the kosciuszko foundation Promoting Educational and cultural exchanges and relations between the United States and Poland since 1925 THE MUSIC GALLERY Hosted by JOHN SCHAEFER Live Broadcast over WNYC-FM 93.9 THE LAUREL TRIO Sunghae Anna Lim, Violin Amy Levine Tsang, Cello Dena Levine, Piano TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 1998 at 12 Noon The Laurel Trio performances are known for their warmth, clear shaping of form, and elegance of phrasing. Winner of the Nathan Wedeen Award at the 1995 Concert Artists Guild Competition, the Trio made its New York debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, and its Boston debut at the Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum. The group has been resident artist at WQXR 96.3, and at the Tanglewood Music Festival, and participates regularly in the Portland Chamber Music Festival. The Laurel Trio will be giving a concert of works by Beethoven, Schumann, and Dvorak here at the Kosciuszko Foundation on Tuesday, March 10, at 7 PM. The next Music Gallery concert will feature Polish jazz pianist ADAM MAKOWICZ, on Tuesday, March 24 at 12 noon. On Tuesday, April 21, pianist PIOTR FOLKERT will perform, and the season's broadcast concerts will end on May 19 with double bassist PAWEL KNAPIK, a Kosciuszko Foundation grantee who has been awarded the Artur Rodzinski Scholarship in Orchestral Studies at the Manhattan School of Music.
