In this weeks Underreported feature, Avis Jones-DeWeever from the Institute for Womens Policy Research offers some perspective on the recent Census Bureau findings on the earning gap between men and women, and between white women and minorities. Next, sportswriter Ben Green joins Harlem Globetrotters Eathan OBryant and Dr. John Kline for a look at the teams past and present. Then, well open up the phones and get your thoughts on whether the media is overly saturated with celebrity coverage. And well end with a panel discussion about the business of publishing, and how the roles of editors and literary agents are changing. Wage Gaps Avis Jones-DeWeever, the Poverty, Welfare, and Income Security Study Director for the Institute for Womens Policy Research, gives us an update on the earning gap between men and women, and how race further widens wage discrepancies. Women earn 76 cents for every dollar earned by the average American man. Hes performed two one-man shows at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, and will do another one sometime in the fall called Swimming to Gray. Brian is also a writer with FNN 24/7. Look for him on the Late Show with Conan Brian. Wendy Herlich has trained with the UCB Theater, the Peoples Improv Theatre, and Chicago City Limits. For four years, she was a member of Unexpected Productions, Seattles premier improv-based theatre company. Shes currently performing with Jen Nails in their two-person improv show, Jen and Wendy, which has been in such venues as PIT and PS 122. Isaac Witty. Isaac Wittys comedy career started very early in life when at the age of 16 he began performing in his church youth group. At 20 years old, when Isaac was three hours short of an associates degree in Radio and TV Broadcast, a comedy club opened in his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Had it not opened, he would be a college graduate today. Instead he picked the road less traveled, jumping head first into the world of stand-up comedy. Hes been on the Late Show with David Letterman, and he just taped an episode of Premium Blend on Comedy Central.
