- This half-hour program gives a sampling of highlights form the new weekly series, new special series, and individual specials. "NET Journal," the new weekly series of one-hour public-affairs programs, is represented by excerpts from "To Be a Man," a documentary on higher education at Yale; "Schizophrenia: The Shattered Mirror," a new film by Harold Mayer, who produced "Trouble in the Family" last year for NET; and "The Vanishing Newspaper," one of a two-part study of the American Press.NET Playhouse is represented by a climactic scene form the Arthur Miller adaptation of Ibsen's "An Enemy of the People," starring James Daly, Kate Reid, William Prince, Philip Bosco and George Voskovec. Daly also introduces NET's unprecedented fifty weeks of science programming, which begins with the eight "Experiment" shows and continues with the return of "Spectrum."Special series introduced during the preview program include "The Struggle for Peace," the 13-week public affairs series produced in cooperation with the Associated British Corporation of London; and "Segovia Master Class," 14 half-hours with the celebrated guitar virtuoso.The NET preview also includes segments from these individual specials: "The Golden Ring," a 90-minute documentary about the recording of Wagner's opera, "Goetterdaemmerung"; John Huston, the American motion-picture director filmed at his home in Ireland; and Duke Ellington.Finally, the preview alludes briefly to the returning series: "News in Perspective," "International Magazine," a consumer series, "In My Opinion" and "Intertel."James Daly, who stars in the forthcoming NET Playhouse production of "An Enemy of the People," serves as host and narrator.
