Series Description
In this series of 39 half-hour episodes, Dr. Maria Piers explains and discusses highlights of normal child development. The episodess interest everyone concerned with growing children; she is sometimes accompanied by Miss Lee Wilcox. Children's struggles as they grow physically, mentally and emotionally are sometime funny, bewildering, and occasionally painful. With understanding of their behavior, parents can help them more easily and spare themselves some of the main worries of parenthood. Mrs. Maria Piers, Ph.D., Child Care Program and a member of the Institute for Psychoanalysis, Chicago is a member of the faculty of the Illinois School of Social Service and the Chicago Medical School. Miss Lee Wilcox is associate director of radio and television at the University of Chicago. Her background includes five years on the New York stage, radio and television.
