OK I like. That. I ran out on him when you couldn't study and
be smart and we find you if there's only one half hour and we come back and that is on your mind. It's hard for me to read time the way that it's very very hard and there's no knowing a uniform part of it but everything is OK. I know it's very simple. Only my review inside who alone is its paper have fish market. I'm the salmon. Almost 50 people. I know.
And I think that because of that now and down by the people around them who would normally go in there and agree with them to just leave the store it took a fall just go so it came from the career with a much power in the ME. We start here for your heart only you know morning til late March source. Well this government targets are to go to Cali. So those are the. Just play on two till eleven o'clock 10:30 and after that I think about how to better run to store. You will get better service as I close them. I smiled and kept trying to
be as a friend. This is your story your father works here not for you for my father in career as a source a worker in a poor way. Man over his family were killed. So he had the water way down to the south. And it became a social worker or a Catholic. Before my mother and I were so. I mean you know you know you know you have to. BE SO YOU KNOW YOU'RE SO GOOD AND YOU. Know we're living my own side the jersey My brother is also in college and works in the work
store when my father comes to America with with only $25 you guessed more job with the career training company and then he says well the school is in high school and maybe try to be what John Little Sister Maryanne I didn't like an American young kid. Sometimes Father says you would like to be a social worker again. I hope so. The worst were hard. I'm the first son and I must help in the most 709 over here. I'm doing a business for myself with my father. You're not going to school I can do both things you can a heart that praises Mr. country so much. In America you get. Open. And career you just you just books just in Korea. Very hard
to see a student teacher just get along like friends think according to much history in America too much you know. I am not only hot but means all that we are longing. Human beings I love all of them. Then lost the love of the children. If spring love of the rose very much love all of it really
love anyone. However it's not free. You have to suffer if you want to talk to a lot of caution discuss and decide. Magazine making. You think that because parents do not have boys and girls and so you can't have it or just because. Well most of us a little shy right. That's the reason why when I was just came here I was so scared that you know I could just talk with anybody. I was so scared. Right now it's your parents that someone it but they one you just they don't want to you know if you make the boyfriend a girlfriend you can just concentrate for the study. But I don't think so. If you make some you know good friends for boys and girls you know another sex just started to.
Happen as that man dances. I think it's right because I used to have good then just threat. I have good friends and I have good friends sometimes is that for me to have because they understand that I just go to my first teenagers because we are caught in the middle. But it is even more difficult for parents because they don't know the American customs and they feel bad because they cannot give us enough for it. That's why this discussion are important. The store is called because because I think in the very patriotic people and when I and I when I went to a place that say you know what are you Chinese Japanese you never see Korean you know so
you know to let them know that Koreans you know the Korean girl you know how that understanding between Korea and the countries country in trouble coping with life discussions today you know we can share our feelings each other we can share the same feelings with the other you know I don't know why but we have the same culture even though opinion might be a little different. Also another one is like oh we're making a book and then they're on the pill Holmes story I experience everything on it. Everything we like to show and then I want to show it to the principal and other school that we are doing something you know as a career and that we can show we're really playing a much tougher stand. I want to go oh boy oh boy oh oh
she's an operator which means that now she was staying up for a factory in Manhattan. And it's just the work now because you know we have all money now and then but when we were in Korea she didn't have to work or anything like that and go somewhere someway and and our life in Korea was more serious life and in America. And my father had both company and young men money and he lived in comfortable position. And we've been that my grandmother came here because that's the cost love our country that we have to take care of their other parents. I don't know I feel that I want to have more time with my mother. So then you know we can be more close because my mother goes I was most the time when she comes back like 6:00 after going off for growth so you know they don't have enough time to talk to her place with her or anything like that or new weekend. But I wish I had more time
with her and home like in Korea. Turn it on education and the real reason why most of the Korean parents came here or for our education. They want us to do what we do and they want us to do better than anybody else. They asked me to be does my. Study all the time when I know on their own and practice study for next day. When I was a man I think in that friend to be Kim.
My hope was to have broadband the democratic system in our county. But then today one man group if his good that was then to Carter is speaking for human rights horror show time. There was a Democrat who says then in our count. That's was in 1959 only nine months I was in this government. We begin to build the free press and the pre-speech. But the military has an operation and that they took over government. Then we had a very bad guy. No freedom martial law. Whatever system up was a good party they took public right from me and I lived in my current overly cynical view because you know I said. This. Now I tried to have a career in omens a year they have a so many problems.
So we made the Korean Orman's also says John I'm from New York. We just this big and begun that line almost the 54 cent family program space your wife and I had been. They have a bad be three and they will one day as you said they made you. But did they can do that and they find out so. So if you live in America everybody working so hard. So now they creator longingly. They feel sad over things and me and I thought they had been the gaming has been the cause. He's really tie and he don't want to talk and he just want to sleep.
So I like amended. Why don't you start the sad thing is to continue education something all my you get and learn some take thinker's things as book keeper or something is very easy and a very short time only for six months. You can understand. Yeah and then you can work. I. Know you have to
tell you too much of the money you do you. I believe our main source of comfort and security is really the charities and we have established here and there no question. Mysteries in the West have brought us to study it and we have a broader back when we come to you know I think. Building our churches here. We can we can store the rest of them forever belonging indicted is our most important affiliation here. We're beginning to provide a many different sources. This is in the medical center building in Russia. We had a small dedication ceremony when we began our community outreach program. It's not a question of when you've
had an online or by that is what is you don't wash it down with. They told me to shoot at all you know is your system. Don't we have a family counseling day care help for senior citizens and the language classes. But this is just the beginning for us. We have about the 17th Street and it's forthcoming. We have to be able to help the newcomers mind Hartmann rent stores finally get their children to school or go to the American forces system isn't that pretty. When there was nobody of edibles was the language that you for your language. I don't know. I think if people are
already about doesn't have an open area two square churches have been established and most of them having members 100 and 300 members and the people I see on the street. One out of ten. That's. 400. Language really best for families
or for the long hours we don't like to put it on the end of it all the right to have a full post or House that if they were angry. So if they don't come from America think the horse or not will your home on the moon is the following. You're all American educated Koreans come to the United States and to run these stores. I came to this business. I felt I'm very familiar with this area and people but when I can't do this business this is totally different kind of other events a two week wagering starts now on
how to control how to win a hand customer the first time we used to have some trouble with that custom when we were kids a small space city with small kids to these kids. Sometimes it was very hard to focus for now and the old you know friends we don't have any problem getting We don't know. So you know now you know this is every week well sometimes when we have primaries because it will be well together. Sometimes I form you know heavy or some kind of temper which I don't like sometimes. We used to argue with you but we will overcome all this difference you know we don't have any kind of business so we don't know what to do
so you have all you know different stuff you know. My Own been suffering and so far no no no. We were always mad at each other sometimes not much and then now you know what's going on. Next time we have to and now. All right now as a good friend wife and husband you know I love and I found more fans and the more you know seeing supports my wife says I can just OK here. We're OK with what my son has. So many patients you know they have
you know so that was it. You know the problem is I work for so long time. SIMON So it was 7:30 12 hours so when I got home I certainly was so I can. Spend so much time with my son enough time. So I feel very much as I wanted to myself so I want to get out it was just business sampan this week I'm going to going to you know that he's reading this so I can have enough times to spend with my son. It's busy we can begin to think about the family have seen as soon as our name is we can you know change our feeling and she like something like father but it was to my
name his problem if you speak all the English lady talks like a business. No you know no feeling you know American language in korean language. That was the feeling in front. Well you call me daddy. And when you call me you know korean. I feel much better. I feel very more happy when he called me Korean. So when somebody goes. What if she was a ghost. What if she was. Five.
Through the picnic and a good week for the memory of Carter's America we will have left you know friends and family my country and the we need to face and his job. We must have together because this is not our country. We're going to be nice to receive
at this moment. We are going to see you Christiane. This program was made possible by a grant from the New York Council for the Humanities and by the members of
