- Description
- Description
- This program features the Andes mountain range, stretching 4,500 miles or the equivalent of the distance from Scotland to Southern Africa. Taller than any mountains in Africa, Australia, or North America, the Andes serve as the backdrop for this spectacular panoramic look at South America's unique and wonderous wildlife. The vast sweep of altitude and longitude ensures an astounding variety of landscape and habitat, from iceberg-laden fjords to glaciers on the equator, and from the driest desert to the greatest of all tropical rain forests. "Flight of the Condor: A 'Nature' Special" captures unbelievable footage of "the spirit of the Andes"--the condor. Also featured are penguins, pumas, dwarf deer, rheas, vampire bats, and ocelots.
