Here & Now, gubernatorial candidate, Representing the 78th Assembly District, Brett Hulsey worked as an environmental advocate including 18 years as an educator for the Sierra Club. Representative Hulsey is also a former Dane County Board Supervisor. Newly announced Democratic candidate for Governor Brett Hulsey is in the Madison studio, Milwaukee charter school, Author of a new study about a National Charter School franchise called 'Rocketship Education' that has a school in Milwaukee - a private elementary school that gets public per-pupil dollars - joins us in the Madison Studio. He’s Gordon Lafer of the Washington D.C.-based Economic Policy Institute. affirmative action, U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld Michigan's ban on public universities taking race into account during admissions. Following that ruling, state Senator Glenn Grothman said he will again push for a similar constitutional ban here. Grothman's announcement comes as the Project on Fair Representation is seeking to sue UW-Madison for its affirmative action policies. The group said it's seeking students who feel they were QUOTE 'unfairly and unconstitutionally rejected from the university.
