Q: Can you talk about giving that story parallels?
KANNIKS: Umm, we are living in a globalized world today. Our children, children are getting the best of both the east and the west particularly thanks to the internet and they are bound to create something that, uh, came with their parents. Umm, in the context of the United States of America, a lot of music is coming from different parts of the world. America is a melting pot of cultures, so you do see transformation of what came in from different parts of the world into many different traditions, like, bluegrass for example, and even the African American spirituals for example that came out of something... some his... some events that happened in history. So, this is definitely going to go on even more, like, uh, I... the, the Indian choral music that we do uses a lot of Raga ideas along with polyphonic ideas and we... the work that we done in Shanti even involves the interaction of an Indian choir, there was a western choir, the tonal colors are very different and they’re coming together. So, I can only visualize more such activities coming to the floor in the future or maybe additional instrument... additional instruments getting added to the, uh, to a traditional symphony for the matter, you never know what’s gonna happen.
