TALISE: It's not something that's a part of the curriculum in the schools. You know, even when I was a young girl I didn't have any African history or black history classes. I didn't have that. And, if anything was touched on it was just a little bit a part of the slave trade and that was it. We never talked about the beauty of Africa, the resources that are in Africa.
