Q:

Edwin: Woodworking? When I got here, Ohio, that’s—I did that in school... wood carving and furniture working but I didn’t do any good. I didn’t agree with me and um, when I got Ohio I lived in trailer block and stay and work there. And uh, somebody said they wanted to buy uh, totem pole. And um, I—I did it inside the trailer with a (inaudible) and I painted inside a trailer. Then uh, I put it together on a base. I didn’t think a door. I couldn’t get it out of trailer. I glued it in there and put screws in there. Boy, we had many... his son um, I—I had to get the hammer beat it the bottom (inaudible) and bring it outside again and before we could go around the corner and put it in his truck. We took it to Akron. I don’t know what happened. Last time it was for sale (laughing).

Q:

Edwin: It was that big and uh fifty... oh about ten feet tall. And I—it was easy to get it out, just the stick, not just the wood, uh-huh. But I put a base, you know. I couldn’t get it out of the door (laughing), boy tha—that’s the last time I’ve ever made a totem pole... totem pole.
