from the longhorn radio network the university of texas at austin this is for him mrs lee believes it became clear and clear to james raphael author of the celestin prophecy and his new release the so steamed vision both published by warner a really worked on the manuscript without any idea of whether it would could be published within be good enough to be published with iran i mean i should get a major power how would be pulled the snow and i just worked on the manuscript and got it to a point where i can't store to give it to some people in can to some editors publicist high is also to just everyday folks or shift soon things you know to make it clear based on the feedback that these
people demanded that for over year so i really just trying to perfect a manuscript without much show full time to how would get out there this is guest for today's james redfield writer who has written a new understanding of human existence to calm his popular novel the cells didn't prophecy must know make room for a nonfiction sequel the celestin vision which outlines the philosophy behind the first novel follows on the slumping thought it would be worth doing as it turned out i wanted to get it out there quickly because at the point where a lot of people i wore them afterwards people just given it it would be would be telling me aside a friend oh lord since to have like to have a copy of a canonical copy the main ship so that manuscript four million dollars for a
mouth and i thought well this must be pretty timely and then when i started exploring big publishers another tell me will will will consider them in the commitments seriously because we give that would be toot t a half years ago and i thought well that's just not the sun to work and then i'm not decided that would just going for my own little publishing company in and get it out there so you were your own editor i was a i had some help you know i had some mom had a package or get to work with doubleday who really fell like is calling was helping people get thrown books at a pre much put it through the paces that any book would put a grocer in terms of outside it consoled him so weak but in the end you know we just printed in and got out and actually what what i did was the first printing was three thousand copies i gave fifteen hundred miles away just
travel in the small bookshops and handing them out of the reason we've graduated all await to to audiobooks now if we think of that card industry i really think it's so it's great you know my new book the cells to envision know little or a burden grades and i just did an excellent job and then there's the us people can you so much i'm an audio map of time to read a listen to a lot of cliques company own you have no desire to have to be the star of your own book the narrator i guess a flood any time at all i could have been me i had gotten in the lead but that doesn't have the newly things took off so fast with the book that i really had to turn all the rover to someone else knew and probably for marketing purposes alone actor's name can hurt only can't
and it's as great a maid in a beautifully like your work who are going to do that you're thinking cd roms at some point maybe we're going to do today project called a magical weinberg down the road in which we're going to deal with within the cells seemed prophecy and now sells invasion being about this renaissance in spirit or spirituality that honestly happening the shifting awareness and consciousness that probably is occurring in others not not there's no way one place where you can find the philosophical works and a scientific works they serve as the foundation for now for this this new way of thinking on this new approach to life so what dunne rwanda duo it and to miss a michael murphy of of golf in the kingdom fame the writers well and
then we're gonna blitz of liberty and the cd rom with a virtual library where people can cruise through in its more mystical text of post from eastern religions and western religions explore of the current research and science that i think it's applicable and so as the education that the current generations that can secure population the education that they receive adequately prepared them to to branch off into the next morning the only thing is happening in education i think it is is that helps prepare people is that along with technology there is there's a movement toward fairness and openness and valuing individual worse than self esteem and
psychological grows so it creates an atmosphere where i think we're all interested in doing the best we can and not just making money and surviving will is important but the did something meaningful and down and something happened and people feel that way either teachers talk about that and we all think educations did a terrible job but i do think but i think that one of things that this going well as his new sense of are you looking at our own psychology how we function can we can we are after more fulfillment in life and that is preparation for i think the next millennium because much of that is going to going to be about finding a niche that makes us happy and that we feel productive in it we feel alone like we're making a contribution again and also prepares us to change and people
would have to change careers many times and it helps us to flow of what's happening and we have to shift our careers and move into new jobs better and that's certainly something that i have to do is things changed very rapidly in the future well in the light of the new awareness can we look back that for instance history and see new information make new interpretations understand the present better by looking at the best differently though absolutely think that you know from africa from the point of view of of shifting our focus of the more perceptive spiritually we can see that we are creating a new world you really i am you know four hundred years ago we started to create a very materialistic universe you know with all of the universe was governed in
place where nothing mysterious happens but there's no connection between al looking outside events and now science says is turning around a little bit and then beginning this show studies it that clearly demonstrate that our attitudes and our thoughts and prayers do influence what happens when other people and other people's thinking we we have telepathic abilities they're beginning becoming i think more developed know we know people in the same for they say it more and more and vice versa and and we were realizing in these studies are showing that we actually can our attitudes whether we expect positive to happen in a negative to happen that seemed to structure not only how we interpret events and the events
themselves and that's of course bring us around what the mystics have always said that you know that as we socialists so shall we read we can see that science is evolving into realizing that we do that i think that we live in a spiritual universe where our attitudes camp reversed so somehow response to our expectation in our faith and it's a it's a it's a new world and it's a bit i think is important that we own and we realize that we're beginning to live in a new world we do still seem to see it though in terms of east unless a dichotomy of some kind is there a bland think mostly happening that will take over well i think they're very deftly is a blending you know i think that on the obama side of the west you have the importance of
logic and importance of ego to the stage in the sense of being having a strong sense of that and dignity and will and a strong sense of that what we want in and taming things to happen that that we want to happen and nice to have this whole tradition of getting into the flow of life or letting go to see where destiny lead to him and using your intuition goes to make decisions so i think what's happening is that this convergence now both approaches yes we have to have a strong ego and yes we have to be logical our approach to life but we can and shoes that logic with a new sense of intuition and unpaid intuition and watching for your mysterious coincidences that are right about that happen in our lives it didn't seem to be leading us toward a more filling destiny if we
let them home you know opening up to that and that that is a flow we get into that is in eastern approach so of my i believe they're a devil is emerging of east and west in and out of that i think we're functioning in a more whole way in terms of our approach to life and how does that affect science as we know when i think science is more open today exploring the mysteries that still remain and nine in the war in another and again the mysterious way that our outlook seems influence what happens to this mysterious way that our opinions are safe concepts seemed to to restrain a sinner or lyft is depending on how we feel about our own abilities the mysterious way that healing happens across time and space as
a result of prayer religious and great studies now showing that person prayed for a hospital as a much greater percentage of having fewer complications and being able to to heal and that's yeah that yemeni us knew that at some level and we always acted on that in the sciences began to present its that is if it happens through prayer works so it's a new world out there and sciences is beginning to shift its focus as a result are there some signs and symbols inside of the mysteries that could constitute a structure a paradigm for this world i think that this new paradigm is really one of of outlook one of our own expectation and other words
that knew were were beginning to discover is one in which the universe response to us depending on how how we approach what we expect i think that the broad view of this is that the universe is built to allow our best dreams to come true and a lot of steps involved in that you know we have to we have to get with the skin our sales of our distractions in addition most of the kids as from even thinking about all this and then we have to quickly clear enough to know something about what will we really want in life you know what what we've been prepared to do is there a talent that we've always ignored it's really there that can can lead us somewhere if we get in touch with the essence of color and he'll have a week i do we deal with skeptics around us that same only thing of
this is just a good universal is not a mysterious happening even get on the ball in ongoing get anywhere those are the steps that we have to we have to achieve power to relieve and to live well this is so this new potential disney world you're talking about individual and i think internal harmony to a great degree this extrapolate this to working in groups with your family or your workplace is yes you know i think one of the things are really discovering is is a mystery at random groups and how they function in groups are are really designed in my view not talk about this money to amplify energy and why may most creative energy groups that were the members drive up lift each other
cause try to think of each other as having a in there somewhere is a genius he noted can just come out and looking for that in each other there's something about that expectation but the members have that the all the others are you have wisdom it with and if people listen to have enough time to talk that creates an amplification energy unify give you energy am uplifting new technology came back to me our there's suddenly the energy of creativity and these groups can almost example finals explode even major corporations new hampshire are finding that and small were groups they get the highest production of innovative ideas because that's the way groups operated amplifies everyone's creativity except thing that promise then the million man march the promise keepers the south
african american women in philadelphia should take over the world will get it's evidence that there is a new spirit emerging you know when people you're the whole side of the whole law i'll drive toward volunteerism you know that the whole idea of you try every day to perform one random act of kindness you know the there's a great since the little things looking very big out there is it raises alarm about that or hacker things be this big wood somebody ought to do something about it will within me man marches were doing a promise keeper groups and they're all perfect and then you know but in a great the great generals striving i think it represents a terror renaissance and
people trying to re to fulfill more foot facility way of life one that works really given a community be your final calling become a mentor for someone become a volunteer some way or try to find a place to make things better that happening out and it's i think it's very very encouraging are your insides capital on tenants of a ferry well i've had i think their tenants of a universal awareness york tried to do with my work is to is to describe the tunnel an awakening that i think is already happening other words when i talk about the end of the world is the human consciousness is going through these insights one in a time and it's it's it's really an awakening into a higher spiritual where it's
i am trying to describe a process that's already occurring out there two year chronicling this is absolutely that that's the way i feel bad and it's in my view a renaissance it's already occurring and its people by just individuals mean it's it's just it's fueled an unknown promoted mainly by individuals as lot of us are trying to describe it but lewin everything to describe if it wasn't already happening at the grassroots level it may be easy to see at the grassroots level but if we looked beyond are we able to see for instance new political paradigm was in the system that we know is that large for sale well yeah i think the politics is like journalism new rules as the sins of tissue and insular the last get it and it's so it's it's ok because they reflect
us you know and the politicians which change our when we demand i mean it we are we look at a going out to work a baby activists why you know they they talk about political reform you know and they're talking about it a latina campaign reform an end and then they talk about how you've been a pass the congress passes a budget that has by some estimates a billion dollars worth of oil work projects pentagon were products are payback the various corporations in india the congressman's districts that are totally useless pork products or even the pentagon didn't ask for the money but the congress said money to pay back their buddies and in total view of everybody's so we're not going to notice this human toll corporate welfare to pay back campaign contributors audio anyone
claimed he'd yell with his new lab and they don't leave the double awkward two hundred million of them billion dollars of wasteful spending i was essay about him as a member of that gain you know dare they think they were slave and we don't realize that's gone on so politics i think will be the last to incorporate this although there are various groups and circling washington that are consumer groups and groups for fair government in taxes of fairness and a lot of those groups are pushing at the politicians alone and then eventually you know theyre they're gonna say you we've got clean up our act people were when plain dealer people now and they're fully awake and sing and the way lee who went all right when we look outside of our own borders there are places on the planet where deer there's a great deal
of deprivation hunger poverty are the quality of life is sometimes beyond our comprehension is there something in the new awareness that will somehow and race their condition and then i think that that this awareness works in every level in other words you can be in the most part poverty stricken inner city flop house and if you know somebody comes up and says listen you notice the way i do it is about a watch or their mysterious opportunities that come by but you have to watch for if to look at him he had to be able to act on them we see that now it will i'm perfectly convinced that people at every level you have to be educated to do to know about
this to put this in action you're just a deal have today and that and that the only way we can solve conditions of poverty and the conditions it could produce crime is is that we have is that individuals have to reach out to those people in poverty you can't have a government bureaucrat go in there and hand out checks that that's a good first step that alleviates the suffering but in terms of in terms of the people that are there finding their own better pathway into something that that they can you know find themselves best at nasa happen win win people forget this new awareness through a kind of contagion that senior operating in someone else's life so so i really believe that there is a contagion they're this
volunteerism we can make a difference with with people wherever they are whenever education level they are and it can start to work for them you know they're so there's a job out there somewhere there's that training about how to keep their job you know there's a way to deal which our care there are there are there are discoveries that individuals can make that will will be a path of opportunity for them if they learn to recognize them and if they get paid attention looking for that so but again you can't you this is not going to happen unless enough those who who operate this way can get go in there and and try to communicate this level of awareness in the possibilities that exist for everyone and should we heal our own first before we go places where warfare has devastated the lives
and other countries could also uncommon you know i mean we have to a pier be some people that will include literally feel that what they're supposed to do is go over him and work with you're living minds there are the crippling people around the world other people will work on the politicians in the you know in the end you know the whole attitude that creates the scale weapons for export which is that yes it's a still i think the leading arms seller in the world and here we've got have some synthetic about that in the end some isolated and necessary of course but that there's an ethic about it that that witness begin to adopt as you write that these issues does fiction or nonfiction serve your interests that have good question since the new book is oil is a non fiction book phil wrote the cells can
prophecy in the tent inside as parables it's a denture parables of believing that tom seeing it in action news senior operative in it and the lives of the characters is the best way to communicate this new attitude or new approach to life i think is emerging along with in the book i thought more directly about here's here's the way to here the steps we have to go through to really put this into practice at the individual level it's this very much a discussion of the challenges we face personally so which worked best own fl called to do both in this instance and gone ford with adventure parables net extended write another another fiction book but i really want to stop
in and speak directly something maybe a baby for my work in these areas and teams right field author of the soliciting prophecy and the solar steam vision published by warner views expressed on this program do not necessarily reflect the views of the university of texas at austin where this station taking a producer for a form that offers production assistant many sighted i'm your producer and host of olive green businesses are available and maybe purchased by writing for and cassettes communication giving the ut austin austin texas seventy seven one
