- "WTTW stepped into the volatile public education ring in 1993 by inviting into our studios the only people who could avert a crisis'and who tended not to see eye-to-eye. "On Saturday, March 27, 1993, an unprecedented five-hour, live television event brought together key stakeholders in Chicago's education reform process. The mission: To strengthen the public will by focusing on both the progress of school reform in Chicago and critical issues facing its public schools. The results: More than one-half million viewers watched this unique televised forum which received extensive cable coverage as it was presented in English and Spanish."-- 1993 Peabody Awards entry form.
