don johnson you know once again welcome toward own words i guess in the majors the book wonder dog not underdog but wonder dog what a story what characters you created where where there's these young men come from a good question keeping to resist but dark imagination i don't know where he came from retail popped up one day hello friends was in grade school when john grisham and so they kept saying what us open by john grisham arsenault single sale do actually instead the stuff you're writing episode of person that's like i'm wilson world i'm a lawyer and then i left it brought about by the light a while the world i don't wanna be exactly so i guess i don't know where i came from really the character when i was in high school or rebellion the fourth part one by shakespeare and opera loved prince hal you know he's the heir
to the throne and he's is bettman at issue again on these days come the first letter i guess the road not only live but also exactly and so us and you know you've got your little four seven iranian fan shape is this all a force that was that it was in what is a political novel and it is funny and it is written in stylistically all talking about how you write and and and that style goes is unique but this young man you created is a lawyer he was a child saw me and if you know all of the gifted and the nursing him probably think of a there are little rascals now valve once mighty mcfarland and that and he was that sort of child star and now it's grown up
and part of the plot is that he's so the governor in part the plot is that he has earned his tv getting his old he did who wants every union and you don't do anything you need a law practice law the law make money doesn't make money is not a good lawyer gets in all sorts of travel but he's a very good man was that he said that love the review rid of positive trick that tapping keys his wife has left him and you know his illnesses doris of reports from rio bar and we just cast in canada very low point of his life and a gal a potential and i think eager figured out of course not but i will issue an end keta somebody at their lowest point for service for comedy weisner we're successful as nas me up to distribute some eyelids that like a profession that we like minnesota governor as someone who is known as the worst child actor of all time
isn't the end gop so that was funny to me this gathering was very funny but i when i say that then that he's got heart and so i am a hundred and fifty eight pages in before he you finally give me a glimpse of what he's really about an lte what it was for our viewers and the lottery than an election to bring about water it is the issue and their lobbyists who are pushing for a lottery an there is the mayor birmingham mayor match and who was against it in any sense now of merit badge and that there's nothing funny about that give and take no back hoes criticized his fall of the government in and he thought our friends to absolutely longtime friends a been a big supporter of that disagrees with him on the lottery
in and i think for my boy new batch is probably right place right doesn't want the lottery and then and here the show men says both the other got to vote for the republican and says it again and again and again just forget all the things he's about that you're four think what he's done for you in so many different ways to vote for the other meat rude he's tough he's mean but for the first time i thought you know the egg just cracked then i just saw who did this hard boiled a little character is and i thought that moment to me in was very revealing that you react to that as well good shape because you mentioned his do you like to be categorized of the napa valley and right now the scenes got he seemed as potential the whole time but we never have and so the mayor and revisit toil and care that's agrees that
oil his eyes large well as beds waffling aren't so yes but do you think your dad should a podcast the mayor and backup on that iran doesn't he comes in place the heavy with the mayor as rude native storming off you know he really is the mayor of the whole idea behind it is to get you to guess calling in to the mayor has fallen to call upon just as behavior but that's just click clack human which is there are i think all along that he just doesn't do a pressure i was allowed to be the force father's footsteps they just as well do it does not want a new technology that does not want to do which is interesting you know but you have to really search to find out anything that he does want to i mean he liked to drink and he loved women can be divorced from his white but that's over the oj he really wanted the war he did it at a discount the accused of what happened in theory was in their work to have it together but it
misses darwinian thing but no i don't want to revisit at the guy and all the people that you know the other jobs by not not that many and so i think he's just more asked about iran says noah might just spin the next forty years to a job i don't enjoy was getting ready and i don't lead to slight pricing all the way up that point i think was just in at the moment where the rubber meets the road in his admission decision to note says dr ijaz khan economists ownership of not knowing what to do next us why he doesn't you know he's he's done he's moving very fast on middle age then and he's not going to practice law effectively i mean his clients suffer only new exposes his of his own willingness to get his clients' character erica good representation you don't want to do anything to sort of go back to that movie live event to
go to the reunion which was gonna be thor i haven't and i thought that the way you were on the way you saw the force the issue about when he would go back to this reunion you get at your total on any of his old grizzled old act or the tv jabbing <unk> a new parliament won't wasn't goofy golf for a kitchen pot are boarded up and then they do that the body of thousand bucks if you've got if you miss this plot in hugo unionize you make this but i did you a thousand bucks out and he'd overthrow the party and jackson thing is that my thing is that because the old rule actor just before the
backs when all of what's a daily wage of armageddon or when to get married because you didn't know surely there any move to sell what a story of you know the note here is a nice guy but he's very enthusiastic and go on four of the city's historically the dam is not going to go through oh that one is deported or you nothing is he really was a bad bad actor it was horrible and the show was can see really bad and so innovate around he'd embarrassed by his role that show and a delegate it only media made fun of a lot for it her days as a bad actor leo has a laugh and a laugh and the laugh but there are those deeply serious moments of us in that moment of confrontation with the mayor when i thought i saw the first time a day of who did care about issues there is another
moment when he visits his mother right there and then discarded by his father the governor talk about her why'd you do that i know i did that you know i write and i don't mean she living in a trailer almost no pollution and lonely and alone he hasn't been there for two months i think a lot of people that you know or our spouse or someone the public eye to get jagged in the public eye perhaps unwittingly know the getty images for their famous the solar famous industry know yet if the films role the first lady you know spouse the movie star who never end and you share your spouse with other people but he can tell you so beside or forgot about or just crumble under the spotlight about the strange to be someone who was the daughter loves the crowd the governor and he's a real
ham in the head i saw that his wife there's mother was so dazzled that is going in between the both his partners the governor's budget that didn't look like human that is not love the crowd he does not love be in the public eye like his father doesn't so he's torn between his mother's more insular nature and his father who's a real extrovert so that i think that's probably that can follow on the novel there is a full lengths she was a very sobering moment for me and i thought we needed dad and i don't know you know about sinatra nine figures into recent serious that but i think you need about as it's harder it's argued that the repetitive because modulation of tone renault morrison just gets ridiculous that you need to research for those you just hang around talking with them in majors about his new novel wonder dog and tough and about and about death about their money bill named a laureate detonate a
nonpartisan detonate in some ways a mom and detonate a lead actor and did you know at the outset that he was going to get kidnapped us better if you visited any do you want to being again because they had the fourth and forth the better shakespeare has a sudden rain shower ever is that english we see how good enough in the bars of falstaff short note look like a bomb looking just like dave does his father's know embarrassed by the finest of time there's a different father realizes putting it together unchecked chase true that the king of the bears by a son and the heir to the throne was in the midst of that abortion health and step out into a soliloquy to the audience to say hey i know that i don't even offered no will trust me when the time comes to get together all get together and you know i hadn't thought about that but i mean death is right on
the cash the volume will certainly right violates the rules of his of his of his profession and and you know it has no guilt about ripping people and you think about the big as guilty plea of cancer and he just don't think recently did them is that he was that case that the guy has a kidnapping the pieces of like that well to make a comparison with it with you know if this is the main difference with prince hal who was willing to go a long way down the road with all says law violations the shrine they kidnapping absolutely no work you know they'd become a tradition the real life of the mill politicians saw was loads america oppressed and apparently no political a lot as in the male leadership of these are the same
as they are with he would include to rome but he nothing to work for the thought that felt that pressure did that encounter had two sons most for injury to do that i think is something of a tradition alive not that there is there is in this book of songs seem of betrayal and under current on the trail and some of it has the newest sex some of it has to do lieu of the invasion to some of that has to do with the politics and you find out there is a dark side budge even as you're writing comedy series for the funny things that no other reviews the book python his knives and on the serious egyptian the top comic and whenever i'm in a discussion of what you know to what's it can be so hard to talk about i don't know why that is about a class part of russia's past measure about
comedy and we didn't spend that much time to live awesome if it will is just so intuitive to talk about it that record on its mobile on cats cradles about in the world and it's a whole areas now wait is over his years as a way to get a message out so i think that you know that the best me as richard pryor was lifted there's a lot of pain there's wealth there's something a file on the train comedy in a little disparate that it's for the story come from i think something that is you know preferably happens pressure right now about these and to put despair that that tension that energy is we're becoming come from the scallions a you know you get used to the bar to bar for twenty bucks or phrase that when you are wrong when you're sitting down to write and this is the second novel you know now but it
fully are the leaks into the timeline and also extend to you know something's going on how a boy you have to stick to the point of that i stopped at one of trusted the planet gets its death and so i am a jew idea is that assume i begin the book and delight vs the cherokee to kick your identity is part about nowhere close to the public it deftly father i'd and so i found that my i enjoyed they're in the oven the bush or when i am following the action and as opposed to letting the action so nasa guys day and i said now say it or to heaven next to sadat left imitation i have the bear know what a scene get started i might do a page of notes that like that line just that one brief saying but it seems like that but that is falling they in cars across gaza so that you know he was
known for unusual figure now and he left the normal force equal here i don't think that they're pretty festive at this week so asked thing that i'm gonna drive up to date until i get is possible maybe i'll have to get a decade or so i think for a while you know i mean if you're gonna fall prince hal restaurant only have taken away tried it yet to be governor anthony going over the big gun that president bush at today's modern real life hal inevitably george bush is funny before he gets free working for churches have gone away that is really funny one to get the yellow alice fisher it uses linear should i just love riding because it's unique you're you're riding a narrative is it free floating then not
structured in the traditional sense quotes most often are not in quotes never dial owner makes itself i mean if it is somebody calling somebody and it's a direct quote maybe beyond that it's as i said a different art form but very readable cia artery there moments there moments when i stop and go back in to make sure that i haven't mentioned that the person i think you're getting the question is not answered so there were moments when that occurs it but but you know that's been you know i'm a writer and i'm gonna have that trouble when i talk about how you came to do and why you do it that way i just for once let the quotation marks and that little martha shafi to a text and so that makes the lee a dialogue center for narrative
and i'm like getting it all the one holdout issue for me do with the question what makes the un dialogue more innate or partly whole another separate artificial thing and edges it just feels like the juxtaposition go to a long description screwed should a passage you know perhaps some more lyrical language to people saying yet aware that aria likely just positioned between ornate writer laying waste to real people talking and there's no on alert the reader that ok here so by talking yet that there are moments when you tell the story forgive and there are moments when dev is telling the story and so then you slide in and out of that with ease but again it's a gamble that the reader is going to
slide into the same ease with which you write what did your editors say about that i was worried that that buffer i did send him first and the voters asked a question about it shows you're lucky really frustrated this song let's understand at that idea and so i've i still support the bullet that they support vocal style no changes to the game and i think the book is bailout that i think it makes more sense that both bushes that a first person narration and i think that until a story about our conversation at least they get a quotation marks around here i shoot your words nothing is that more natural but the risk is of course that you're going to live your readership that you'll fight to disgorge it frustrate or damaged of quotation were from about some of the messages with this book nothing gets worse than that and i'm not writing books that they would
probably sell and they copies of my book about her really got a lot of play what this book will give in it's very likely that this book is going to go up a coterie of readers who will look for your work and be loyal to and if you like it and if you can laugh and it again feel his pain if you can rejoice with himself or with you know relate to what you do because the way you tell the story is unique is different it's not like anybody else i know who is riding now is not like the regime is not like david berg is like you with my job there's yet euro i think that they literally looked alike but i don't think in what would i
the main characters of the biggest more like i would say an you know evaporates the case of the deadly shot a country music in the end opposition parties of i think it's pretty good natured but it is i think of some people but not fondness and their cause is united and letters of that you know i you know i do know is that he's not he's not so that it wanted to give back to the kidnapping and her for a moment you know exactly how's that have to know it hasn't happened i knew that he was going to have to get added that there's no way that he could get some point had to pay the piper for nasa by case is the guy gets bit that by dollars dollar trillion is or was a poor guys and there's no way that i can't do and punish in the book and i hope they care just about the kidnapper is sympathetic and him to be sympathetic and he's a yemeni it away no real reason to get now
buddies you know i do give money but exactly an unbound at london's got to go and is willing to talk to me about to grab him oh no you need a little money in the running what i knew he had to somehow get some money to ceo's everybody money and us is that the money is debt would you know the jared yesterday just in west that dough alm wants he shows up the crack game and his year when money and less of the storm often they're saying what i am i'm too but i'll tell you know and what you've done to him in chapter you know i mean in the laces is we need to have big crapshoot collapse i mean he's gonna blow it all on these sites is such a loser i know you don't lose and low and all week on the way with a bow slightly was a winner i knew that he was a reluctant reader all i can sell a nose or like a winner and i knew that when it's richard daley was booming is look like had a turn in it
is these two or substance abuse you don't say that part if it is ready to go for reveal that he is of the appurtenance of diseases that one fifty eight health is funny enough as you read along that you will bear with it the family's a loving father early on so that's a saving grace for a buddy dunham and beyond that well i i must have a soft spot for iowa underachievers and drifters and people who have a deadline there were the checking his father says that his dad told him checking sings the b movie star ocean first man shot at western because of the hollywood as a young man from alabama and when tennessee don't go don't go here for as far say the word out giddens yeah do you know i give the cattle come to boil the side and so i think you know some people cooperating with a goal toward this government are right
demand now and other people it takes a little longer to become men and i think death this is our dad had a low priced there was the father there were cast members are collapsed so that i couldn't afford to begin after work it's known in that six month period of service you made him a slow boiling pot yeah it's really about his father and his father know it's over seems to me you don't tell us early on as follows a campaign button and we'll know there was the pickup lines for his father knows that your he's lost these know that they should be his opposition is it is it young a young guy that designation as it is with before an attractive yes and no and hungry and the governor is just goes the motions you know if you are is dania beach marines got these seas these losses ages tired has been the public got long and it's just kind of odd to the motions of that that's why it's not to knock the lottery
issue so they have a pocket of dc people to get tired of the hitler wouldn't have enough young about what the next book that's really serious to have some more grownups more of this more bills that really politics also sort of politics that's great and when i'm sorry we've run out doug thank you very much for joining me and thank all of you for joining me and johnson didn't offer a world where you just keep reading
