Description
Episode Description
A temptation for Valerys intelligence: Leonardo da Vinci. In his study Introduction to the Methods of da Vinci, Valery analyses the mechanism of the painters creativeness. Dissecting it unmercifully, he leaves very little mystery in the Mona Lisas smile. (Description adapted from documents in the NET Microfiche)
Series Description
Images of Art is a presentation of graphic masterpieces. Each episode concentrates on a different European artist, and his story is told entirely through his painting and sketches. Many of the works of art have never before been seen by American art lovers and come from little known European art galleries. Many of the other paintings are well-known masterpieces. Produced by Radiodiffusion Television Francaise, Paris, the author and director is Jean-Marie Drot; the English version is by Jacques J. Brunet; with Telecinex, Paris, as consultants. Images of Art had its American debut through National Educational Television. The narrator for the English version is Robert Anderson, founder of the Canadian film making organization, Robert Anderson Associates Limited of Ottawa. Mr. Anderson was formerly on the staff of the National Film Board of Canada where he won recognition for his work with Mental Health films. The 26 fifteen-minute episodes that comprise this series were originally recorded on film. (Description adapted from documents in the NET Microfiche)
