- NET cameras were on hand on August 8, 1969 for the welcoming celebrations at the Lighthouse Pier when the replica sloop Clearwater arrived at Nyack, N.Y. This was be her first official Hudson River stop on a summer-long crusade against pollution. NET then covered the concert of sea chanties, anti-pollution, and folk songs given that evening in Nyacks Memorial Park overlooking the Hudson, by folk singer Pete Seeger and the Hudson River Sloop Singers, who are the Clearwaters musical spokesmen. The Hudson River Sloop Singers are Allan Aunapu , Jimmy Collier, Jonathan Eberhart, Louis Killen, Don McLean, Michael Rivers, Fred Starner , Andy Wallace, Craig Brooks, Lee Chatterman, Wendy Smith, and Mike Kellin. The NET episode also featured the following days activities: a childrens Sturgeon parade down the main street of the town, with children carrying a huge paper Hudson River sturgeon, similar to a Chinese paper dragon. That afternoon there was a special childrens matinee and an informal jam session with local folk musicians and members of the New York Folk Music Society. The episode includes selections from the following lineup performed by Peter Seeger and the Hudson River Sloop Singers at their Nyack concert. 1. Parody on Deck the Halls; See Rock City; Chicken on a Raft; San Francisco Bay Blues performed by Andy Wallace, Mike Rivers, and Richard Eberhart of the Washington DC Folklore Society. 7. This Little Light of Mine performed by Pete Seeger. 8. You Grace the Day and Metallic Flowers performed by Naomi Holtzman of Nyack. 9. Dig My Grave and On My Way to the Freedom Land performed by Fred Starner. 10. Castles in the Air and a poke-fun-at-todays institutions song performed by Don McLean. 11. Takes a Worried Man to Sing a Worried Song performed by Pete Seeger.
