The truck zooming by the load before I start down the plughole most when I had the least in mind I would cut them up. Run. Them just a stunning. Moment. For a moment because A. Lot of hard white Christmas white Christmas bring me some coffee. Mug up bring me my lord this everlasting knock the ball. Boy Chris White. Just. Bring me some coffee. I go with your. Life. And bring me a light moment. For letting. Him go my way. That is the lounge lizards live in person here in studio one a celebrating Halloween a day early with us and getting ready for their celebration tomorrow night at the Cactus cafe at 9 o'clock. Who wrote the words to that one Hank. Yeah I did. Did you see the movie Kafka. No truly Gary. So scary I don't recommend it at all
scary. I read about any kind of scary and really you know it's a romantic farce. I think about Kafka and the. Musicals there's like oh yes oh yes it has hunger in music and it's very charming. You just don't watch archery. Don't look like Daryl Hannah costars I don't watch you right. So the Lounge Lizards are here and we have very little time so that's the title song your second album. So I say play another song. A scary one that I mean that's scarier than it was on the record this is you know this is about a 20th century of paint. Yeah yeah. Actually I mean I don't know you know North Carolina term it means ghost right from the self. Fairly benign actually although he does want to say howdy. Supernatural all the same and you can imagine Griff Luna Burke of the characters in the story role I think of this old Grif with his grandma and grandpa like rats. That's a fairy
tale that's really scary. All right. Okay one two three. Years from now. Rambo passed away. We hardly missed him close he's still with us today. We can reach right through where to get the bread list or sit in the kitchen was grandpa's Holy Grail. Worse in. The kitchen. Like grandpa's old grandma. Told me has no substance he is still a great old man but I can say any time you will be sitting. In the kitchen. With Brambles old right. We just loaded grandpa long to the laserdisc. Now with touchless magic lamp to make him read exists. Always user friendly to go he hasn't much to say. We see lots more of Graham Poll than before he passed away. Or SICK.
With. As little substance he has to look great on. When he died. You. Will be. Sent. To jail. Rambles on the right. Well I'm done I don't bury me I'm on the prairie flat. With a billion stars around the scene in the book. Just me my coordinates into my favorite chair Amabel's in years from now it'll still be seen just send. Me get you I am with. Pozole right now I. Believe you have the substance are you still lingering on
through generations as our cities turn in the sand will be seen. In the kitchen. With my balls only right. Come on bug so you know when you die. Moving to. Sit. In the kitchen. With rambles on would write. Sitting. In the kitchen. With Rand Paul's older brother. Graham was a liberal a liberal. Greg. This is a lounge lizards live very well but first they've got to show every other moment you turn around. Tomorrow night at the Cactus cafe it won't show. It will show that you are heard yeah. You tried and you know right. We go out of our way to keep things sloppy. Then you're very pleasant to the sloppy costumes you're wearing today do not pass at all for Halloween to help you to do something different tomorrow or I hope and this is New York City chic man. Yeah we actually will be in you know.
Because you know we will be so costume that we could send a sub group to play for us and no one would know the difference. There he was like a sub file or a sub Janus sub contract the job of the sub species. That's that will have sub species that Paul Sweeny is back with the group doing the mandolin on this lovely grandpa and he did their very very white out of a don't grant sway to it. And Hank card is their lead singer in this last two songs that we did sometimes you can be other people and kind of playing the guitar and Hank is playing the guitar and Kirk Williams is playing bass and the banjo is played by Tom Pittman and he is kind of singing every once in a while and we have time for you to play as much as you can before we get out here so I am happy which is just. Well here's one that Tom Pittman sings are more traditional I heard and saw I heard there's a little piece on MORNING EDITION today about Dr Demento and he said the heart of his.
Halloween show every year was to play several versions of this song so I thought it would be appropriate for us to do it and this is dedicated to all the folks down at pounds. I have I have several versions of this myself I think the original was done by jumping Gene Simmons which is. Has probably the most ludicrous album photo I've ever seen these. There's three different shots of Gene Simmons all attempting to jump up in the air while wearing this 1950s suit jumping Jean seeing a picture of Nixon too he's going to want to return to the center city with play. I wonder if a can of mass murder and it's really about later life. Not that one. Just. The stuff.
I've seen someone get me. Out of the. Room. I don't know that it's me it's out a lot of room. Don't be here live on. Little. Ball this night is not my. Thing. Romeo. Went to the kitchen on the stove the old.
Man is bowing out of the bar. Reserved. For the morning of. The. Littlest. Bowing out of the room. I know the moment. When the moment. Behind a long. Ball is I was not knowing. They know it don't run me. All right. We had that word hang again. I guess I've heard it all sorts of places and just never paid any attention to it. Paint paint a haunt and direction of such. And you know not st with the s dropped off either
the Lounge Lizards or here ly celebrating Halloween with. You can do the best Halloween sound that was that was current that was pretty darn good. Was Conrad not bad. Paul can you do. No my country says no hope you have. No hunting noises No goofing around. Thank you 4 more years for the scary thing. For instance there are some very. Scary that's a serious thing so far so get out there and vote this afternoon while there's still time to vote early the alarms are maybe President Quayle that's that's. Yeah I hear a big shock in silence. You know it's our job Bill. Tom what's your scariest sound you can make that was that last one this big sucking sound in the Lounge Lizards they have a gig tomorrow night at the Cactus cafe and they were kind enough to come in here today and they're switching.
I think Paul is going to play the guitar and Conrad's going to play the mandolin on this next one. Whatever it will be. And what will it be the store so I mean that's a great Doris Day is scary. Yeah she's already from John originally originally you know I was born in Cincinnati Ohio lived there until I was eight years old moved to central Texas and I've been in Austin since 1960. Yes. Buy him again six Cincinnati where the local symphony orchestra does the theme from St.. Psycho That's right yeah yeah. All of our psycho music and all that that was from Cincinnati today. You know it's interesting what a town we drove through Cincinnati last summer I guess. Yeah on our way from day to day. Bill couldn't slow down though no time to talk. You didn't I don't think you missed a great deal. There were seem to be 700 bridges and more on a river. Yeah well I noticed that I got to share it with everybody that more bridges for less water than any place. Yeah and it's many it's a lot looks a lot like Austin in a way you know next to
none. It's a song about hometowns and so I mean this is kind of scary but it's very you know there's nothing scarier than your hometown. Exactly. Driving at something here. Kirk sings a song and this will be on the new album. Also coming out in early 93 hopefully we hope for a boy as well. When my wife calls me to travel far and wide. Thoughts of home are we. Down the road I ride. Up on the. Car out on the deep blue sea. I can't get my friends and family. There is no place on the planet. Quite the same. No matter. How far. I go. Playing this world again. Breezes maze man's way and far afield a global look back to where I came from I must
go. To that God forsaken goal I cold always draw me back again. Wherever. I may roam. As squalid as Calcutta. As negative and as Rome that God forsaken Hello lack all. When I see that a welcome sign I shed a tear for why had I. Come back again was. The lack of love the long sent dance wit out hope for parole. My cane escaped the shackles on my soul. And that GOD FOR SAYING. Hello Goan. All things draw me back again wherever I may roam. Farther out than Fargo. Lonelier then. That god forsaken hello like all along is. Plain. Wrong.
The stranger came to town. Man ask me why or. Why. Instead of. Just passing. But all my friends are buried here is some of them are dead. So Home is where I'll always hang. In that God was saying and. I call. Oh you. Always draw me back again. Wherever I may roam. Squalid as Calcutta. Daggett and as wrong that the bowler Segev lowlight long. Will be doo da day that's terrific the Lounge Lizards and a new one that will be on their
new album that was sung by Kirk Williams and Kirk Where is home for you. Belmont takes its own time to ride more precisely Port Arthur. Yes the beautiful mountains of Boma Conrad you of. I was born in Oakland California. Oh yes a lovely place especially not Paul home. Born in Brooklyn Brooklyn New York on the right that's where he got that wonderful thanks and Hank Oklahoma City Oklahoma City as a hellhole of the good news had him out on Friday and you know the prairie born in Charleston South Carolina Charles mostly raised in Augusta Georgia. Oh god that's where you learned about ain't right caddie to the masters like at home. But all are just like all of us from I guess we're talking about birthplace so I guess that would be you know so easy an afternoon Eunice. OK let's all its hard to say what is home. I mean homes often now for all of us a rightist That's right we live here and we like it. Yes right. What a pity it is but we like it as well. I love that line about some poor kids. Some My friends are buried here and some are still alive whatever
that limits are all around the area here some of them are dad right from Edgar Allen Poe's premature burial. You catch the little presidential thing in there no hope for Perot no roll it's a parole and we talk about the parole board and we're going to add a new instrument. This is fancy what is this time. This is a cynical of yours an electric cheese cutter. I like. Bela Lugosi scoff and creaking their pedal steel guitar. All right that's what they look like in the Lounge Lizards are playing at the Cactus cafe tomorrow night at 9 o'clock wear a costume if you go now you know we will. Try to draw maybe. Yeah yeah yeah. Being there was yet another work in progress. This is a story of Moby Dick basically
reduced to three minutes. Said Louisiana. To me. OK Clint I want to turn the amp up just a little bit maybe you can turn the technical difficulty here. OK everybody out in radio land radios up and then turn them down. It's a secret like secret handshake we have right here. And so then this is the devil in it too so that does kind of. You know you're essentially how do we help what are the secret signals that it's time to mix the punch now. Ready boy I guess. Well is it not. Dark the medieval soul of the city is MY lived alone not the
first ship but it the one with this movie said I'm gonna catch that large amount of. The Masters bigger than the gate of the forest as white the strongest. He's named those dolls and tried. To close Gitmo meals won't. Keep them on the liver. Mondo little loss leader and the gaze of goods. At a strange obsession he has gone against that bit. Of the song God is pleased with sorry. God is here. For 20 years he took his boat out every day. Good night. Wind and
rain the fish didn't pay me never got a bite to live their lives be more money to him he didn't seem to hear the news that his strange destiny was there but. He cast disfavor into the water in the rain that built the pole of boulders the strong love for a train that landed movie Jack looked him in the eye and the storm the DUSU glove. The money down on the bottom and his name is Dumbo. Who's going to do their mission at the mouth of the bay by the double door. Buys a Cajun dish. God is with us today that he is playing well southerly that is good obviously. He was sorry that he got on his way. It is a war that
to use. A truly scary and a good tie in with Christmas we were discussing a few years earlier. You know which is your favorite holiday or what you think you'd start with because you know how the bell sweeps over bills going you know. You know Christmas there. And I think kids like Halloween even more than Christmas. Generally speaking or at least they used to think you know it it's not so much a get stuff as these get to act and you know we're not. Anyway that's it that's a good warning to be careful what you wish for for Christmas you're liable to get it. That's right it could be a lounge lizard CD. Get one for your family oh that would be nice. It really would. And they've got to know what you got talking stuff. We will be selling those by the way from a race where you have three of them out now and another one coming in in January and they will be at the Cactus cafe tomorrow night at 9 o'clock for Halloween ball. Do you have time to squeeze one more in. Is there time. It's our farewell note because we got to get out here. Something truly truly scary. Or
it's just downright silly for Halloween. Whatever. Murdered. How about the brain damage just different. There is what I would do that are the scariest one of all Jesus loves me but he can't stand you know what. Goes on something often or again. Which is it. Brainer I like that old Jesus Allister. So pretty scary about that. Said Is this for everybody who's going to be Jesus for Halloween. Shit I don't know who to give you the pope I think you guys have more to do with the pope. All right shall we go. I know you smoke I know you drive through the park center line.
You know God Jane here that's why I know it to be true that Jesus loves me but he can't stand you. Going straight out of a bonus. When I die because of the crossed every T and dot every I got my preacher tells me I'm God's Turner guy. That's what Jesus loves me. You're the rock God loves all her children and my gun. That all means you long incinerates. Can't you feel that our son playing thinking you do. I'm raising my hear the righteous ways not be sending your kids over miles to wipe your tears or grow up stronger liberal for motor car. This is all we all do for me.
Jesus loves me you know. Then you told me where you're gonna go. There's lots of room for a goal. Well Lol jesus sauntering up King being Oregon's into other songs with us or not he's looking at you you all are chasing all your guests the heavyweights are going to watch. I'm sort of right along with. You don't call me old. Lady over all of a sudden you're you know that but anyway that's what you wrote the letters to Jesus we really can't stand you. That is the ultimate Halloween song I think. Absolutely. For this election your get out there and vote this afternoon in the early voting you can still get your family value vote in their vote for whatever kind of family guy you think you think might be represented by one of those
guys. Well more spend at family Wal-Mart All right. All right because I wish there was probably an election terminal at Wal-Mart as well. The Lounge Lizards have been entertaining us a very royally as always and the first time we've had all you all on this program in this studio I know you've been here a thousand times before but let's do it again. Happy Halloween. See you at the Cactus cafe tomorrow night at 9 o'clock. Thanks yeah thanks for having It's just been wonderful. And Tom Pittman saying that when I didn't play anything I had to concentrate on those lyrics. Kirk Williams was the bass player and Hank card the guitar and sing in pubs we need play the mandolin. And they all sang What do you ever sing very much you do sing some background on occasion. When I was in the bad you know officially I sang some stuff right. But now you kind of concentrate not OK and Conrad is is playing the guitar and singing. And if Michael Crockett is up there you know he's probably died of fright when he looked at the mess I left him in the control room show you what he's on just right so that's coming up and Cliff Hargrove has been our engineer it sounded great to meet with Thanks Cliff.
And you live with Michael if you are there and if you are still conscious and listening and can see the underwriter cart You're welcome to press it and take over. You know Larry it was the line again. You know. He did it.
