We're glad to have you with us. Whether it's Formula 1 or on the streets for Rory is synonymous with fast and clearly this new F 430 holds true to that rule with nearly 90 horsepower more than the 360 mode and the F 430 screams ultra high performance even at a standstill from its clear engine cover proudly displaying a powerful V-8 to its racy Cooper open top spider body styles. It's no wonder that the F 430 ended up on our driver's choice dream car winners list but driving it is the real dream.
If there ever was a sports car intended to star in a driving in the newsiest exotic dreams it would be the 2006 for Henri f who are 30 and almost all new evolution of the 360 mode into the mid engine at 430 is built on a stiffer aluminum space frame chassis with a tight one hundred two point four inch wheel base and wrapped in a muscular body shaped by the aerodynamic experiences of Formula One from the aggressive shark nose front complete with enlarged air intakes and center spoiler to the high said rear fender scoops in massive rear diffuser. This is clearly a car designed to work with the air rather than against it and its sole motivation is a beautiful four point three liter dual overhead cam all aluminum dry some V8 engine with variable intake and cam timing. It delivers 483
seamless horsepower 22 percent more prancing horses than the 360 and three hundred forty three pound feet of torque. A new twin play clutch bridges died or a sick speed manual or is in our car the latest version of Ferrari 66 Winchell shift here box with its F1 style paddle shifters. New software has cut shift times and almost totally eliminated the harshness that Ferrari fans have long excuse dads character. Also new is a steering wheel mounted switch that selects five preset maps including snow and race that control everything from shock settings engine response traction and stability control to the electronic limited slip differential. From its first lap at George's Roebling road Raceway 430 drive train amazed us with its stunning combination of brute force and flexibility. Punch the gas pedal in the morning. Want to get to 60 in only 3.5 seconds. And through the quarter mile an eleven point seven seconds at 120
miles per hour. Power hits hard from less than 3000 rpm and pulls like a space shuttle booster all the way to the AB 500 rpm redline full throttle shifts are sharp and firm while downshifts are silky smooth with the perfect blip of the throttle. But that's only part of the 430 experience. The prancing horses always excelled in the corners and the AF 430 is well equipped with computer augmented cart suspension. Turning to any corner and the variable rate power rack and pinion steering response with go cart witness the front end feels a bit nervous until the tires warm up but then the combination of hard rubber and aerodynamic downforce glues it to the track chassis balances near-perfect with just a touch of understeer at mid-corner sure brutal inputs will cause the back end to break loose but recovery is only a gentle flick of the wheel away. Like all Ferrari's the 430 is a car that
demands finesse and total concentration but rewards the effort with stunning corner speed and when it has to shed that speed clamps down on the optional carbon ceramic brakes which Stroeve off philosophy with impressive power and field. But if your driving environment is more street than track you'll still be impressed with the upper 30s before me. The ride is very verbal but without the sharp edge of many previous worry ever in this way it's also much like the endzone. And the transmission's fully automatic motors without the jerks and stumbles that once made slow traffic and embarrassment. And after all that they're still the joy of just looking at the F war 30. It's voluptuous curves have that organic and emotional styling unique to a tell you car builders the F-4 30s interior reflects that same high style hero feel fine leather and carbon fiber in a perfect blend of modern and traditional. And while the F 430 may be only a hair under forty
nine inches tall the 2C cabin is surprisingly roomy. The seats are also quite comfortable though owners headed for the track will want the increased side support of the optional sport seats. Now the price of such beauty and performance is one hundred seventy one thousand dollars and that's before you add in options like the fourteen thousand three hundred dollars ceramic brakes or the almost five grand of gas guzzler tax. Yes the 2006 Harari f 430 is extravagant and expensive to be sure but it's also one of the most incredible driving experiences available for any price. A car that involves a head heart and soul. John for the most part motorcycles tend to be seasonal vehicles and that means they're going to be laid up for a certain number of months out of the year. Now to avoid disaster there are things that you have to do to protect them during that period. Number one is to fill the fuel tank and treat the fuel with a fuel stabilizer then run the motor cycle for about 10 minutes so that the stabilized fuel is circulated through the entire fuel system. Right now the engine is warmed up that's a great time to change the oil and if it has one change the oil filter you don't want old oil in the engine because it has acid in it. An acid can and bearings during lay up. The next thing you're going to do. If you're going to use a flogging spray Now this is an oil that you have to read. Follow the label directions very very carefully because it's sprayed into the intake and it coats the valves and the Pistons and everything to prevent corrosion. Next is the brake system.
You know brake fluid absorbs moisture you don't want that sitting in the brake system so you flush the brake system put in the proper type of brake fluid and you'll be good throughout the lay up chain needs to be lubricated. Chains can have a lot of damage just by sitting in disuse if they aren't properly looped. Well and you certainly want to wax all the paint in the bright parts on the bike to keep corrosion from forming and you want to take care of the battery but you don't want a battery charger you want a battery maintainer. The difference is that battery chargers charge continuously battery maintainer shut off when the battery is fully charged. That'll make the battery last a lot longer and it'll be ready to go in the spring. Now tires are an issue. Proper inflation and you want to get the tires up off the ground to prevent flat spotting So that means you want to service jack such as we see here there are many different types on the market. If your bike has a
center stand it will take care of the rear wheel. If it doesn't you'll need two of these jacks one for the front. The other for the rear and will keep the tires in good shape. Now here's something a lot of people don't think about. This is a chemically treated motorcycle cover. This is from California car cover it's airtight. You put the bike in there zip it up and there's a treatment on this that prevents rust and corrosion. You could also add bags of desiccant this absorbs more oyster to further protect the bike during the lay up. All of this takes a little bit of time but it's well worth it because your bike will look and run like new when you put it back in service. intrepid Henrico pads and his recent travels to Iceland amidst glaciers hot springs and a blinding snow storm. He had the Highlands with Land Rover taking off roading over the edge. Then just to the left of Europe Iceland offer some of the most beautiful scenery and driving experiences the world has to offer whether its geysers hot springs or lava flows Iceland is in a category all itself when it comes to raw natural beauty. And that's why Landrover invited me here to show me this unique country and to demonstrate how their new LR 3 can tackle all Iceland has to offer. Led by the Land Rover experiences David to sneak our expedition would take us into the Icelandic Highlands via unpaved and at some point uncharted roads for our journey. Just what we needed to get us ready for our adventure. The next morning after a quick breakfast we hit the road. What started out as smooth blacktop soon turned into dirt roads rock climbing and river crossings serious four by four only territory. That's when we got to see what the threes could do and the fun. And when Land Rover says expedition they mean expedition. We tackled some of the most serious technical off road and. Planet all while being hampered by the LR 3s luxury class interior cold and harsh outside. Warm and snug inside. Now that's off roading. One of the main attributes that made this posh off roading possible was the LR three strain responses Land Rover marketing director Collin Greene told us about train response and why it made our LR three so adept at conquering the changing conditions and the new technologies cannot were right in there.

General Motors also delivered big truck news in Chicago with its redesigned Chevrolet avalanche. The crew cab crossover with its outside inside mid gate and stability control rearview camera cylinder deactivation and E-85 ethanol capability. Ford's luxury Lincoln brand revealed a restyled chrome laden full size navigator
SUV complete with a 15 inch longer L model. Over at Dodge this extra wide rampage concept takes a new measure to the traditional truck figure. A bigger crew cab with stone go seats and smaller cargo box mesh for an easier to maneuver urban hauler Dodge is also adding a compact SUV the night show based on the Jeep Liberty The nitrile ads aggressive styling outside a sliding cargo floor inside an arty trim. The kick of a two hundred fifty five horsepower V-6 the most significant new car to see the first light in Chicago is the Lexus 350. The most striking as yet a two hundred seventy two horsepower V-6 and added luxury features will go a long way in keeping a high value luxury benchmark. Last week we announced that the Honda Odyssey guarded our motor week drivers choice award as the best minivan for the second year. That's after driving this odyssey E X for a full year and almost 24000 miles. We continue to be impressed with the Odyssey's outstanding combination of comfort utility and ease of driving. And we get that praise even though we also know the Odyssey is not perfect. We had power door problems early on. The front passenger seat is still cramped and a blown straw it means the hatch won't stay up. On the other hand the Odyssey is powerful. Two hundred forty four horsepower V-6 never misses a beat even returns SUV beating economy of twenty one point six miles per gallon. There may be many bands that top the Odyssey in one
area or another but it's still the best overall minivan choice. Our choice for a weekend of pure driving fun is easy. This 2005 Porsche Boxster s with three months and 5000 miles on its clock are unusually warm mid-Atlantic winter has even prompted us to pop down the Boxster stop on sunnier days.
