We're glad to have you with us as we start our 25th season on public television. The DV 9 represents a true renewal for Aston Martin. While retaining that classic long good proportions of James Bond's bullet proof DVD 7 parent Ford pumped up lots of pounds for a new chassis and to completely revamp the fabled Aston Martin V12 engine the result is an exhilarating drive into a new realm of high performance British motoring. Engineers in England's most historic car company set out to build what they came the 2005 Aston Martin DV 9 coupe. They were aiming at a truly 21st century design. Well cast your eyes over the DV 9
subtle yet complex curves and you'll see both heritage and innovation. This composition is pure and modern with its aluminum and composite body panels exhibiting minimal ornamentation and a smooth aerodynamic flow. But the distinctive grille and muscular profile are classic Aston Martin. The stunning coke bottle body sits on a lightweight aluminum frame with a one hundred seven point nine inch wheel base and a sedan wide track supported by big 19 inch alloy wheels and C R rated tires. The rear 275 35 rubber is driven by a completely overhauled all aluminum six leaders. Him 48 Melfi. Well the engine producing 450 horsepower and four hundred twenty pound feet of torque between the engine and wheels is either a just released six speed manual gearbox for our test car six speed automatic with touch Stronach manual shift. It's the exquisite combination of classic style history and stunning performance that makes this British too close to the crown jewel of Port stable.

John identity theft is an enormous problem and now it's even happening to cars. You know anybody can walk past your car and copy down the VIN number because it's right there in the windshield. Once they've copied your VIN number they can apply for duplicate papers and those papers can be used on another car that has been stolen or may have been reconstructed.
How can you prevent it. Well simply with a piece of a file folder all you do is when you get out of the car you place the file folder over the VIN number and no one can write it down. Pretty clever. But that brings up an interesting point because here we have Vin answers. This is a process where you chemically the VIN number of your car into each pane of glass on the car. Well that is the casualty. But it makes it easier for the professional to copy your VIN number and something else to consider before you do this. Is that all of the expensive body parts. Well they already have on most cars the VIN number etched right into the metal from the factory. So that makes it more difficult to sell these parts once they've been stolen. Oh don't forget visual things like the club. They do a great job. The casual thief walks up to your car and
says I'm going to walk past that one I'm going to find one that doesn't have something like that to contend with. So they're very good idea and they're very inexpensive. Something else that's inexpensive wheel locks you know you put those on your wheels will keep the wheels on your car. Very very effective. But here's something that's really neat. These are called Plate blockers. Now in order to steal a car for a joyride you have to take the original tags off and you steal a set of tags from another car to use on the stolen vehicle. Well plate blockers use a tamper proof bolt requires a very special wrench that isn't readily available and that's the only way you can get them off without damaging the tag. Inside the Fusion is family of five roomy standard features include a CD stereo with MP 3 player power locks and windows and a tilt in telescoping wheel. That's a leaf we think a lot of Chevy fans will make without a second thought. That's our first impressions and will add more new car keys in just a few weeks. In 1990 Mazda started a roadster revival with the introduction of the m x 5 Miata a compact and very affordable drop top that became one of the most popular sports cars ever built. But even the best design shows its age eventually. And Mazda has now introduced an all new iMac five for 2006. So let's see if it has what it takes to fire us up all over again. Before we start let's talk about the name of this tiny rear drive roadster. The
2006 Mazda MX fog. Miata has been officially dropped. You won't find it anywhere on the car but because it is so well known it will still be used in advertising and promotion. Go figure. Ordinarily this third generation can only second total redesign and the X5 might deserve a name change since every part is new. Yet they combine into the same minimalist sports part of food that we all fell in love with 16 years ago. The X5 did grow a bit but just a bit. It's two inches longer 1.6 inches wider with two and a half inches more wheel base. This allowed designers to pin a much more muscular stance with only a small weight gain that huskier look comes from prominent vendors which tell 16 or 17 inch alloy wheels the nose wears a rounded grill that recalls the original 1990 Miata but now HIIT headlights are an option and there is a
new subtle power bold in the aluminum hood. A revised double wishbone front a new multi link rear suspension provides the support. DMX 5 has never been known as a powerhouse but the 2006 edition gets a 28 horsepower boost the two liter dual overhead cam four cylinder makes one hundred seventy horsepower and 140 pound feet of torque up 15. Both five and six speed manual transmissions remain from 0 5 on the new pro 6. There's a six speed automatic with steering wheel paddle shifter. With its revised internals the six speed manual on our car required a firm hand but rewards it with positive engagement has its Nicks into every gear and it allows every bit of power to reach the rear wheel. Resulting in a 0 to 60 in time of seven point three seconds. The quarter mile takes fifteen point six seconds at eighty nine mph but handling has always been the true forte and that has certainly not
changed. Turning his motorcycle quick with a rack and pinion steering requiring minimal input and allowing easy mid corner correction. With or without our grand touring models differ sports suspension the chassis is tight and lively with tons of feel plenty of grip and just a touch of mid-quarter understeer.
