Matthew Stewart

Retired Joplin, chief of police, Matthew Stewart, was named the new executive director of the Children's Center of Southwest Missouri on Thursday. Stewart will replace Vicki Dudley, who has served in that role since July of 2014. Stewart was most recently a victim advocate for the Newton County prosecutor's office. He has more than 20 years of experience in local government law enforcement. He has also served on local and state committees that focus on sexual and physical child abuse programs. Stewart's a resident of Seneca, Missouri, and a graduate of Missouri 7-inch criminal justice administration program. He also earned a master's of science and criminal justice from southeast Missouri state. Stewart will start in his new position on Monday, May 3rd. For KRPS, I'm Fred Fletcher-Fierro in Web City.
