- Pledge special part one: . Andy Kaplan and a partner started Kinderworks in a garage in Portsmouth just five years ago. The furniture and toy company has become very successful through the imaginative marketing of "Kinderchairs" and other children's funriture, and a toy called the "Kindercolor Express!!!" Andy is the prime mover behind the company: he wears day-glo shoelaces, has a very creative mind and endless enthusiasm -- friends call him "Kid" Kaplan.. Eldress Bertha, the last living member of New Hampshire's Shaker community in Canterbury, relates her memories of Christmases past as celebrated in the Shaker way. Hopefully she'll do some traditional baking for us too. Canterbury school children visit the village to sing Christmas carols as Shaker children did long ago.. We listen to the 23 voice ensemble of the women of the Portsmouth Women's Chorus as they perform a variety of classical and Christmas tunes in "A Mostly Baroque Christmas."
