Description
Description
12/19/2002 - Voice of the Faithful in the Catholic Church and Weir Christmas Tree Farm past week, the Catholic Church in New England has been shaken to its core. Boston Archbishop Cardinal Bernald Law has resigned. And the diocese of Manchester has reached a settlement with the state of New Hampshire. The settlement stopped proceedings in a grand jury that could have resulted in criminal charges being brought against the church. For its part, the diocese of Manchester became the first in the nation to concede it would likely have been found criminally liable for the abuse committed by its priests. In this program we look at the future of the Roman Catholic Church in New England through the eyes and voices of the faithful. Plus, we travel to the North Country for a spectacular look at a Christmas tree farm.
