Here and Now, congressional hearing to fix voter fraud, 2004 election in Milwaukee 200 hundred votes were cast by felons who were ineligible to vote. More than 100 instances of potentially fraudulent voting. Green Bay Congressman Mark Green - also a Republican gubernatorial candidate - called for congressional hearing about fixing voter fraud. Congressman Green joins us now from Milwaukee. As does Milwaukee Alderman Mike D'Amato who is active on voter reform issues as Chair of the city's Judiciary Oversight Committee. measuring hurricane conditions, Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies at UW-Madison conducts satellite measurements of atmospheric conditions contributing to Wilma and aids National Hurricane Center. Stills of satellite images, voter cynicism, New survey done by the Wisconsin Policy Research Institute. 600 respondents revealed some cynicism among voters about elected officials. Only 6 percent say they believe their elected officials represent the best interest of constituents. 47 percent say politicians represent their own interest. And 40 percent say politicians represent special interests. Mordecai Lee is a former elected official, a Democratic State Senator who is now Professor of Governmental Affairs at the UW-Milwaukee. John Shapless is a fomer Republican candidate for Congress. he's a history Professor at UW-Madison. conservation and environmentalism, More people are tackling conservation issues and finding ways to protect natural resources on their own, not waiting for government to take the lead. That's the focus of a new book called 'Hands on Environmentalism, ' co-authored by Tom Still.
