- Here and Now, Online Sexual Predators,Online sexual predators. From disturbing Congressional testimony to the arrest of a Homeland Security official charged with soliciting for sex with someone he thought was a fourteen-year-old girl but was actually a federal agent who had baited an electronic hook to try to catch a predator. Our first guest tonight trolls the internet for sex predators here in Wisconsin. Wants to make sure parents know how dangerous the online community is for children. , There were 32 Wisconsin towns and cities on Tuesday with referenda that asked voters if they wanted to see our troops come home from Iraq. In 24 out of the 32 locations voters said yes, bring them home. What should congress do with this information? Here is what you said. , Taxpayer Protection Amendment, The Taxpayer Protection Amendment is the latest effort among Republican lawmakers to ease tax burdens. The amendment limits revenue state and local governments can collect as opposed to ongoing efforts to simply control government spending. It does this, in part, by: -limiting state and county revenue to a three-year average inflation rate and population growth.This includes a freeze on most fees but EXCLUDES U-W System tuition.School revenue is capped at inflation and three year average of student population growth.And cities and town may collect revenue tied to the inflation rate and 60% of new construction costs. Lena Taylor opposes the amendment. ( With full-screen reader) , Taxpayer Protection Amendment, I spoke with Representative Taylor earlier today. Joining us now via an internet connection is the author of the Taxpayers Amendment, Chippewa Falls Republican, Jeff Wood. He's in Eau Claire. , Answers to the question: What about spring vacation this year?, Here's a breakdown of the 32 Wisconsin communities chose whether they wanted U.S. troops withdrawn from Iraq. Twenty-four of the communities voted in favor of referenda advocating withdrawal, while 8 voted against it. State Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager announced she has joined the state of Connecticut in filing a brief in a Supreme Court case regarding the No Child Left Behind Act. Lautenschlager is urging the U.S. Supreme Court to rule that the federal government cannot impose expensive, unfunded education mandates on state and local governments. Bills strengthening punishment for repeat sex offenders and a proposal to increase disaster relief funding in the state were among a flurry of legislation signed into law by Governor Doyle this week. Finally, Appleton's smoking ban, widely regarded as the strictest in the state, survived this week after a referendum that would have eliminated it. , Playboy Party School ,Talk about UW-Madison getting named #1 party school in Playboy Magazine.
