Good evening and welcome to Studio 20 today. You know there are been so many people and stories to cross our path this past year and some are going to portions of some of those stories is not an easy task perhaps looking back will either spark your memory or whet your appetite for television with a local flair. Let's look back at 1998 on studio 22. Thank you very much. You have a treat in store for you. National
right here lots of music like that. Thank you. What's your favorite letter or do you have a favorite letter. Oh I see I had several this morning. That. What I signed off was there was kind of an opera because I told her I read a letter from. Paul your victimhood in their wheelchair since the age of 42 had written to me and told me that he said a birth announcement. Of their baby. And he told me that. He had written to me. Because he'd fall in love with the nurse he'd met in therapy for 25 years already known her for two years and he wanted to marry her but he didn't know whether that whether he has it as a disabled person had the right to ask Beautiful able bodied woman to be his wife. And I said go for it. Love is usually a two way screwed discreet good nothing to lose and he wrote back and said. I asked her. And she said
whatever made him wait so long to ask me. He said those words changed my life when we were married. Now we've got a baby and and we all want all the you Abby because you gave me the courage to make this possible. And that. That is such a thrill to me to think that I could change a life that way. And it's so sad a letter but it's a rewarding letter so I share that. And then I said Well just when I needed a lift the most I got something wonderful I guess. And then I told about little old man who was 88 years old. I think I live in Fargo North Dakota and he said. I'm 80 years old. And. My wife is the jealous type. She never wants me to leave the hospital because she's afraid I may call an old girlfriend. So what does she do. She hides my false teeth. If. You want what should I do I'll have the side of Grandpa Max. So I responded with a duramax. Your wife
is your best friend. She wants to make darn sure you don't bite off more than you can choose. Hot payers right out of the oven. If we were to be taking these out of the alley would melt the chocolate and sometimes I have to put this back into the oven and let it really completely mailed. He knows that just a block of sim is sweet just as a block of semi sweet chocolate
and we've started with three or four players and we've put the simple syrup on baked it for approximately 20 minutes taking it out and haha. We've shaved as much on that as we like. We like a good beer. If Anthy then tomorrow old just like I have to gauge if I am pm then do my room. Lol that's not gonna be a.. My. Friend. I want to know are you are you married with Gone at I know I've been woken the cleric gal I tell you what why don't we do it. OK. Fortunately girlish and in the largest pledge to go out on a date
with me sounds like a good plan to me. Course George has got to come wall. Well how about that Steward you got to go with just got to go high you know to down these are better than lines. Well the right thing for you. To. Do you. Play. The game. With. Me. Be a. Good. I'm going to.
Look at. The book. Can you imagine getting a letter in the mail from someone I think couldn't read it and been
ashamed as someone to read it to you and I and that's happened it happened to me several times in my life and I don't have to ask people to read it to me I can do it myself. And that really has give me a lot of confidence. That's wonderful. Has that happened. Yeah yeah yeah yeah. When you think. You learn when you don't know how to read what I find you learn to fool the people. I like my own. This is a funny thing my uncle you know one's boy. He always thought I could read the funny papers because I'm always a look and thank you here in Delhi I was around I think around 18 years ago he didn't even realize that I couldn't. But she you can. You can fool people but then you know good. Your own your party you know good because that too while you're at it catches
up with you like she says you get buried she can't read. You know order food menu. And so it is I would just go for your head to be a cook or stamp or up for my teacher down there for a year and a half. And I had to read menus I mean you know want to make 200 biscuits or it was institutional to the lot. Oh yeah. So she can afford her for a year and a half and I winged it. I pass that with and I. Can describe what I listened to everything she say it watched everything she showed me had and I winged it for a year and a half and when the question is all right tell her this summer. Yeah. I told her about it and she says had that Yuto it asked us to look back I don't know. That my day of that class but I was going in it the whole time. But that's not the way to do it is now. I would advise anybody to do that I wish that I hadn't done it that way.
But I think it true. I changed our way this go and when I got out of my grade I could not read. But they never knew right but never knew what. What advice would you give to someone in school that might be and that is a myth. Do yourself that you can rate in college somebody that you need to learn how to write. You need to learn it. Because she don't know what you're missing the candidates rather tell you love struck alcoholic if alcoholic just say that he's an alcoholic he can't get help and for your kid if you can't raise it and you don't tell no one then you can't get help. I always had a great love for horses ever since I was knee high. Never had the
opportunity to be with them because we had three children and when we got stationed in Tennessee I always wanted one but until the children were raised we didn't have time when they were raised I went after what I really loved horses ever have never had in mind until about five years ago when I watched the show and I thought how elegant and beautiful. And I went out of there and here I am. I always had a love for horses too. But I was never sure they wanted me to ride them or anybody and they can ride a horse. I know. Almost anybody that is willing to be thrown once in a while a fall or get hurt once in a while you see I don't like to get hurt. But Heidi assured me that I could do it but yeah we're not alone and. He will walk very slowly and mind just holding a little here. Oh ok yeah you going to help me they're going out there mid on if you want a ride you NO NO NO NO NO NO I like you know Mary with. The. Heart really go you know you know that one of the things you need to learn anything about I'm
home alone and here is a lot of it out hearted No no I don't hurt you don't interfere here with boy love he don't have to have a little ability and a little bit of talent to stay in the saddle and learn like this like me oh oh I think that's like me going are you looking back already. You're looking already better come on little guy let's say but I hear they go Oh wow he really moved right that's a. Good. Idea I'm glad you brought that up. I'm glad I didn't run that need to know what you did to drive myself to if you know you think you'll be ok maybe not so then I got to try it so well walk the walk. Oh you're gonna be good. I'm right you know are you want to. Know. That it's a war unfold that. I'm on the knife. What right off. What it's worth. I
think it takes a little time. I'm. Playing. The I'M. Cold.
Cold. Cold. Cold. On tonight's studio 22 postcard we traveled to the beautiful country of Switzerland.
Switzerland is if. You can imagine and move. Every view is like a scene on a postcard with beautiful lakes. Mountains. And valleys. I walked through the wildflowers. And listened to the bells of the goats. And the Swiss milk pans. And that's a scene in the area of switches near the Italian border. The weather is more. The water crystal clear with the bridge built by the
Romans. And the air is filled with the aroma of fresh baked bread from the outdoor ovens. And appeared. I mean. Reading. At the end of the valley of your son Scott in this area is a small picturesque village so no one you know. This quaint town with its stone houses and beautiful flowers is surrounded by the mountains. This particular day the village of Sonora nyo was celebrating the Swiss
national holiday. August 1st. Tonight studio 22 postcard Switzerland. Now Norman adds modernise met to sounding famously so use order to dance.
You know around the table. Yeah how's that. That's OK. Not quite so much next and that's OK. That's about the way I don't have. To say I have this taste I don't really have this vaccine. That's all right that's not a right to say that you want to myself Now this way who found this diet Well you know cholesterol. OK. I used to use that money and have to get that all mixed up now. That. Shoulder with the frozen sentiment had shown a good sugar with the clothes and cinnamon and the shawl car. You've already made how much is in here. About a you know you measure a bad cup this is a cooked thing why I know this is. How much of it is in oh you put it almost a teaspoon of cinnamon. Do you really miss him and about the eighth of close eighth I'm going to live that was a booger. OK. I have that. Yes.
If you cook a turkey in the in the grasp of and always cook it with the breast down upside down the area like this. Oh and cause all you juice is in the back of a turkey and that runs down into the breast and makes it tender and juicy. But if you if you cook it and ground heat with the breast you'll have a real ground turkey breast. Now you cook this in an aluminum foil. Yeah you rapidly ramped in the fall and then and now it's not brown. But you take your aluminum foil off and then turn it on Bowl in the oven and leave it for about oh well you can watch it till it gets brown it just takes just a few minutes for it to get brown. Then how long did you cook that turkey. You cook it 30 minutes per pound on 350. OK. And it's wrapped. But if you cook it in grad heat you won't cook it that long. Oh OK. You cook it about. 20 minutes per pale. And
grab heat. I'm always trying to make new items trying something different. If I if I make an item that's useful in somebody's life that I'll make more of them but I most of my items are originals or I may have gotten ideas from before from someone else but I've made them myself every piece that an individual blacksmith makes is unique you know there's no two pieces like blacksmithing and this princess to so be the dinner drinkers but I call it dinner dinner. And what I'll do I'll use this to make the whole the clapper. On the dinner here. It's going to calculate your angles fine and I adjust later. About do it.
Sure there was a. Dinner there. Head when I got to him very clear. To me you know Mummy you know like you're. Going to be good right. Honey out couldn't come to me when I come. I'm not dead. Look look. I am crooks are used to cower you know why do you love me. Rod probably. The only and probably to more was zero molten crackers roomier launch. It not from me me or no the most.
