- Doug Blodgett is a Vermont State Wildlife Biologist. He spoke with Mitch Wertlieb about the wild turkey. Once close to extinction in Vermont, it's thriving these days thanks to some concerted conservation efforts.

- OK, I'm assuming most of you are getting ready to cook a big bird for your Thanksgiving Day feast later today. But chances are the majority of those turkeys carved up for family and friends will be of the domestic variety, purchased from a local supermarket. What we'd like to do today is pay homage to the wilder version of the traditional Thanksgiving fowl the wild turkey, once close to extinction in Vermont, but very much thriving these days thanks to some concerted conservation efforts. Doug Blodgett is a Vermont State Wildlife Biologist. He spoke with Mitch Wertlieb about the wild turkey
