- Here & Now, dropping oil and gas prices, Richard Shaten, University of Wisconsin Energy Expert will give us insights into the impact dropping oil prices will have on our state. That includes cheaper fuel at the pump, home heating costs this winter, airline fares and the impact on frack sand mining as talk heats up to reduce output in the Dakota oil fields B-roll = gas stations, dakota oil fields, consumer confidence, Steve Deller, UW Professor of Applied Economics will talk about consumer confidence. Where does it stand heading into the busiest shopping season of the year and where are we headed in 2015? This is important because it is driven in part by gas prices and also is a key indicator in the real estate sector. Both will be discussed in this program, record high milk prices, Ben Brancel, Wis. Agriculture Secretary will talk abut the good news down on the farm. Exports are up 17 percent this year and at the same time farmers are enjoying a sweet combination of record-high milk prices and record-low feed costs that are creating profits in 2014 that are six times higher than previous good years B-roll = milk production, real estate sales, Mike Theo, President and CEO of the Wisconsin Realtors Association will discuss the unexpected sales boom in October and new home starts on the rise in 2015.
