The first part of live coverage of the inauguration of Governor Dave Treen hosted by Beth George and Ron Blome from the State Capitol in Baton Rouge on March 10, 1980. This hour of coverage features: a report on the preceding weekend's inaugural activities; a profile of Governor Treen; highlights from the inaugural parade, including a performance by the Southern University Marching Band; the swearing-in of Secretary of State Jim Brown, Attorney General William Guste, State Treasurer Mary Evelyn Parker, Superintendent of Education J. Kelly Nix, Commissioner of Agriculture Bob Odom, Commissioner of Insurance Sherman A. Bernard, and Commissioner of Elections Jerry Fowler by former Chief Justice Joe Sanders; the swearing-in of Lieutenant Governor Bobby Freeman by Judge Lawrence Chehardy; and the inaugural address of Lieutenant Governor Freeman.
