Description
Description
The Green Machine captures industrial waste heat and converts it back into usable electricity. 'In the United States the amount of waste heat that we produce is enough to power the entire country of Japan which we like to point out is the second largest economy in the world behind the United States.' An opportunity for Nevada-based, ElectraTherm. It began manufacturing the Green Machine late last year. Nate Lowery is an Alternative Energy Invest Analyst with The Windquest Group. 'As we look to this market here in Michigan and the Midwest we're going to be looking toward a lot of industrial process heat coming from heavy industry, chemical manufacturers, pharmaceutical, food processing, metal processing as well as universities.' The Windquest Group founded by Dick DeVos is invested in the product and is working to distribute it throughout the Midwest. Each Green Machine costs $150 to $200,000 to install, but it pays for itself in two to five years. 'As of right now ElectroTherm is a Nevada-based company so they're kind of doing their assembly out there, but as we ramp up our presence in this market and start selling higher volumes of equipment there' no reason we couldn't bring some of that manufacturing to the Midwest.' And in the words of DeVos, a technology for customers to capitalize on a free and abundant source of energy, increase efficiency and produce clean energy.
