*Beeps* *Silence* Ah, the road trip. I'm sure there are a few of you who think the road trip is little more than a paid vacation. [Music playing] Man: Hey this is an easy shoot, huh? Woman: It is hell working in paradise. Really, it is. Man: Well, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. OK Man: OK OK I'll admit there are some good times but a lot of the hours spent on the road or anything but picturesque. And today we're going to show you the real story. Believe me, we're not all wet when we say travel has its hardships. I know that a lot of you don't get a chance to go out on these road trips so Todd and I thought that we would just take you on a
little tour of what life on the road is all about. This is Summer Lake lodge located in Summer Lake, population 20. Todd and I had the good fortune of staying here for three long and ugly nights. Thought I'd just show you a little bit around. These are the accommodations that we had. This is set up for those people that can't decide what to wear in the morning, so you can make your decision while you're still in bed. This is the bedspread in Todd's room. He didn't do quite as well as mine. Mine actually has no rips or tears, I was very fortunate. This room cost us 30 dollars a night each and the reason they charge that much is because they offer you a full complement of things to do. They have and they promote this: satellite TV. Now what satellite TV means here is that they have one channel they get from satellite and that one channel is regulated by Gordon, the owner of the place. It's not unheard of to have him change channels in the middle of a movie because he's bored with it.
Now we've already talked about the fact that one of the things they do in town is to watch the satellite dish when it's working. They've also provided some outdoor recreation opportunities. This is the tennis court. All it needs is a net, a little resurfacing and of course they are always safety conscious here and if you'll notice there are signs all around that say "you are playing at your own risk." So that finishes our tour of Summer Lake Lodge and you can no doubt tell life on the road is not always a pretty story.
