These people who say that we ought to withdraw from Vietnam are only wrong because if we withdrew from Vietnam the communists would control the. Pretty soon Thailand Cambodia Laos Malaya would go and all of Southeast Asia would be under the control of the Communists now the domination of the Chinese and then India. Burma would be the next target.

JFK on Southeast Asia domino theory. Statement included in CBS special: "Five Presidents on the Presidency." Program also aired on PBS (Moyers host) in fall of 1980. Statement is from outs of Cronkite interview with JFK Sept. 12, 1963 for the first CBS Evening News broadcast that day. (It was not included in that broadcast.)
