This video segment from Between the Lions uses an alphabet song to review the ABCs, matching each letter with the name of a character from the show.
Description
Use the ideas in this song to create your own classroom alphabet book, personal alphabet books for each student, or an exploration of different alphabet books. Write the letters of the alphabet vertically, in large print. Next to each letter, write the children's names that start with that letter. If you have a photo of each child, attach it next to the name. Refer to this list from time to time, and add the names of guests to your classroom or familiar people. This becomes especially instructive if you attach the person?s photo next to his or her name. For additional practice with the letters of the alphabet, check out the Between the Lions Web site, where Leona?s ABCs show the official way to print each letter, and the game ABCow gives children a chance to practice identifying letters in a fun and challenging way.
