Back in 1950 WGBH reached back to the very first patriots of Patriots Day with a living link Dr. Alford was Waltham was then 95 years old. I'm going to tell you from my grade above 90 is old. On the day of the Battle of Lexington his great grandmother was there so went back to when she was 5 0 0 8. Dr. Webster tells the story in her voice as she had told it to him when he was a boy. Oh wait my thought and he said this so do those who have gone the minute men were called out in the night. My phone had to go. I don't believe I had an a break was that
I heard the drums. And I ran across country to my grandfather. Oh and then out of the zone on the opposite side of the role grew a lot of them. They kept coming and there was children with them. Many of those men were never seen alive after that she said. I can hear voices I can hear. I've seen many as sad thing but nothing like to write they would fall through the law. Oh of those they love. Dr. Alford Wister of Wal tham recorded in 1950 when he was
95 recalling what his great grandmother told him about what she experienced as a young girl during the Battle of Lexington. Well that remarkable piece of audio is just one example of what one can find in the WGBH archives and you can visit them at WGBH dot org. Just look for open vault.
