Episode Description
Americans on DMZ (Vietnam demilitarized zone) patrol. Singing, smoking, tanks and beer. (C Troop, 3rd Battalion, 5th Division) 1. Keith Boyer of Chattanooga, Tennessee, playing guitar and singing. Two GIs and tank in background, wind blowing. Close shot singing, "It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring...(etc) / Listen to the falling rain. Who cares about the weather, as long as we're together, Listen to the falling rain..." Two GIs firing off weapons. Tank "Villa Rides" coming to camera, and along road. One blond walking ahead of tank along road. (105' sound on film) 2. "Easy Rider" on gun barrel of tank. Pan to valley and hills. Same tank moving to camera. Two tanks on top of hill, guys lying on top, shirts off in sun. Group of GIs sitting around radio, smoking, drinking Pabst beer. Tanks in background. Group includes the guitar player. Close up Keith Boyer inhaling a joint, holding it in. Another GI with flag on hat. Another guy on tank comes over, arm round other, is handed the joint. Slow moving scene. (116' sound on film)
