July 6. Services were conducted by the Reverend Robert Scheer ard minister of the corona Congregational Church of Queens New York with a special prayer by the Reverend William J McManus of The Holy Cross parish in the Bronx for farmers and colleagues of Louis Armstrong. Included singers Peggy Lee Al Hibler and Professor Potter. Eulogies were read by pianist and composer Billie Tator representing as Gap. And by Fred Robbins a longtime close friend of the late Louis Armstrong. A few years back Decca Records asked Armstrong to trace his career from its early beginning and describe in his own words the development of jazz. Use this for a record set containing almost three hours of music and conversation is now a collector's item. We hear excerpts from this musical autobiography of Louis Armstrong.
