Renee, the language is in Alaska. I think she said they're going to go and interview the last e-worker, e-work. There's one person here. Yeah. Okay. Who speaks that? Okay. What do you think about the e-worker? That there's only one e-work person that they can find. You think they'll ever happen to you? I think eventually it'll happen to you pick the language. Just years and years and years from now. It's really sad to say this, but there's a lot of young e-picks who are beginning to speak English half the time. Little kids are learning to speak in these days.
I know my little nephew, he's two, three years old, and his first language is you pick, but he's beginning to speak English. It's broken, broken English, but he's speaking it. And he's learning, learning these English words from where? Television, TV. That's where he's picking up English. And the same thing applies to all the little kids in my village, Google. They're picking up English here and there. From cartoons, from sesame trees, from other, from their peers. They're speaking it. Yeah, eventually, eventually,
I hope not in my time, but you pick language will become like e-ac language. I wish that my child will be able to speak and understand it. I'm going to have a child in the fall. And I think about how I'm going to communicate with a child. I tell myself, I tell my wife that we're going to talk to him, talk to him, her, and you pick. We're going to communicate with a child and you pick. But there are some children that I don't know. What about just on another note here?
You and John Active have kind of an interesting relationship. You're more hard news oriented. He's more feature oriented. What do you think that's a good balance? I don't know. Personally, I really haven't thought of a balance in picture. What about hard news? Why do you pursue that so much? It seems to be your favorite. Because I pursue hard news, I go for the hard news because I want the elders to know what's going on politically, like I was saying earlier. I want them to know what's going on out there.
I want them to know what's going to affect their daily lives. What's our governor going to cut next? Well, the governor's going to be getting our budget here. I want the elders to know if their longevity bonus program is going to be affected. I want them to know if their Medicaid is going to be cut or not. Even if a bill or proposal is introduced in the legislature, I want them to know from there on until the final decision is made. I want them to keep up with what's going on. When you and John were doing stories about the Gulf War and Iraq, how were elders reacting to that? We were reading quite a few stories on that.
They felt that elders listened to the story felt like they were just keeping up with what's going on there. Well, did the news, what they were seeing when CNN really scared of them? No. There are quite a few villages in our area with no cable. I don't know. I hardly get feedback from the community here in Bethel. Only from my handful. No, I can't answer that.
Can you see what's happening for a second? Can you see? I have a message here from one of the village leaders named Fred Filpin. This could be a call about those two guys overdue on a seal hunting trip. Hello. Yeah.
Hang on. Hello. How come my line five isn't working this morning? All the lines are busy for a top line. They're all busy. I have to hold off with my call right now. We're going to tap into the line five. Thank you very much, sir. Here?
I'm going to call the troopers here in Bethel and ask them if they heard anything about those two seals. Two seals. Good morning. This is laid off calling from KY UK is Sergeant Closin. I'm calling to get information about the overdue seal hunters in Guil.
Okay. Can I leave a message for him to call me? Okay. Okay. Okay. Thanks. Okay. Braising would happen, Adolf.
So, about noonish, I'm calling, I'm calling the village Guil, IRA council, and see if they can give me information on those two overdue seal hunters. Hello. This is Adolf. I'm calling from KY UK. Crocca. Okay. Okay.
Yeah. Yeah, this is Adolf. Yeah, I have your message, but it doesn't say the call is about. Seven, one, five, two, one, two, two. Well, I can't hear you. Is this IRA council at Apency?
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
