This is music. Classical contemporary and folk music from the civilians festival and the 50th anniversary of Finnish independence celebration in a series revealing some of the current musical activity in Finland. The Sabbat is festival of 1965 and the 50th anniversary celebration of 1967. Presented considerable quantities of music by outstanding composers other than so bad use. And from a wide variety of historical periods there were also several Illustrated lectures documenting interesting aspects of debased Finnish musical culture. The second series of programs of music from Finland is based on recordings supplied by the Finnish Broadcasting Company for production by the University of Michigan. Critics almost unanimously a claim bigot Nielsen as the finest singer on the
concert stage today. Certainly her interpretations of the song literature of the Scandinavian countries is incomparable and her performances of the German leader repertoire are on an equally high plane. Miss Nielsen will be heard today in three groups of songs one by the Swedish composer conductor and critic to run strum one by the Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg and a final group by Ricardo Strauss to Iran strum died in Stockholm Sweden in 1987 at the age of 73. His output of musical works was considerable including symphonic poems orchestral suites chamber music and a large number of songs. Thanks song by totally wrong. Strong song by good Nielson. Edward Greig whose career spanned a generation before rostrums is almost always thought of as the Norwegian composer of all time. This in spite of the reputation of his countryman Ole Bull who traveled from Bergen to the Greek home and learned us there discovered the young Greek and persuaded him to attend the famous Leipzig conservatory. A considerable amount of Grieg's music mirrors the style of Robert Schumann whose music he had learned to like and admire while he was a student in Leipzig. Greig also heard clownish woman perform her husband's works there. We will
