The Symphony Number five in C Minor Opus 67 of the DEFUN Beethoven played by the Eastman Philharmonia under Willis page. Our concert will continue with music of Boyd and Igor Stravinsky after we let the station identify itself. As familiar in its own way as the Beethoven Fifth Symphony is bored because orchestral SCARED
SO THE SORCERERS APPRENTICE Duke wrote the piece in 1897 when he was 32 hearing it some thirty years later he remarked himself on what a surprisingly good piece it really is. And so it is still fresh still marvelously effective and still a great work out for a virtuoso orchestra. We hear the Sorcerer's Apprentice now played by the Eastman Philharmonia under the direction of Willis page.
