You are listening to music by Don give us and this is done give us here again to tell you about the compositions we've selected for the final broadcast on this series of broadcast series brought to you by the national educational radio network. For these past 26 weeks. I've scheduled two works the first of which is a taping of the world premiere performance of a symphonic poem for orchestra called to an unknown soldier and the other will be a repeat broadcast of a work I played for you a couple of months ago called Seven Golden Text and a song of praise from the Psalms of David to an unknown soldier is a somber and introspective score. Its purpose and in memoriam for a national hero a hero who is symbolic of all men who have died for their country's freedom. This unknown soldier lies now in honor in Arlington. This music salutes his memory. Here now is the tape made by Kenneth who's there in the Westminister college community Symphony Orchestra of Salt Lake City as they played the world premiere performance of to an unknown soldier.
I'm.
I end.
Up. Why.
Not. But not in. It'll. It'll. It'll I'm. A.
Little. We have just heard the world premiere performance of too an unknown soldier played for us
by the Westminister college community Symphony Orchestra of Salt Lake City under the baton of Kenneth. You're listening to music by Don Gallo said our program continues now with what has become for me one of my favorite scores. I played for you recently on this series but I felt that it was a most appropriate finale for our 26 weeks together and decided to schedule it again with Osbourne t bell shine as our narrator. We hear the festival choir and band of Dickinson State College of Dickinson North Dakota in seven golden texts and a song of praise from the Psalms of David. It was.
A. My word is a lamp and a light.
I.
Oh.
Bless the Lord my soul that is within me. Lord. Lord.
Trouble.
A. The word my mouth. And the meditation of my heart
be acceptable or Lord of my strength and my. Lord is everything.
Will this performance of seven golden texts in the song praise from the Psalms of David with
their inner Osborne the bells chime the festival choir and band of Dickinson State College of Dickinson North Dakota. We have come to the end of our broadcast series of music by Don give us. And for me reluctantly because I'm sorry that there will be no more half hours on the air this season. Before leaving I'd like to think quite a number of people who have been helpful to me. Both the American Federation of Musicians and the American Federation of radio and television artists have been kind in allowing me to use tapes originally made under their jurisdiction. And of course I'm grateful to such people as Colonel Samuel abode in the United States Army Band Dr. Ronald Gregory and the University of Indiana band Kenneth Khushal are Westminister college in Salt Lake City to the Interlochen Arts Academy faculty woodwind quintet to the Texas Christian University band and to Dr. Frank Pearson and Dr. George Reynolds of Dickinson State College. All of these fine organizations worked in behalf of this program series by recording music especially to be used on our
broadcasts. One more bit of thankfulness and then I promise to stop. I'd like to think Bob Underwood and Jerry Sandler of the national educational radio network and in addition the 67 stations along the line who carry this series plus also of course you. My favorite listeners. So it's goodbye time but before I say it I must say that music by Don goes as been brought to you by the national educational radio network. And this is done to give us saying. Thanks for listening and goodbye.
