This time it is natural for a child to seek and enjoy novelty new experience excitement and surprises. Parents must be a little understanding and permissive. They might permit encourage and provide for the meeting of the child's needs in this area. The parent has to direct supervise and protect the child also so that the child does not become emotionally intoxicated overstimulated or hysterical. Father Duffy A study of one hundred fifty murders that took place in Denver between 1058 and 64 showed that 46 percent of them were committed by members of the victim's family. I would guess that the next largest category of killers would be classified as strangers. Next to the home the tavern and the street are the original meeting places of murderers and their victims. I would like to suggest that we have not done enough study on the role of the stranger in the Pittsburgh Police Academy where I lecture policemen are instructed as to how they should warn children to be on the

Take them somewhere without making children unduly suspicious we do warn them not to talk to strangers not to take anything not to go anywhere with them.
