We written about the great northwestern part of the United States that it be written for a band and that it have its world premiere performance in Morehead Minnesota urged on by they present knowledge that the wonderful United States Army field band conducted by Colonel Chester Whiting would do the first performance. I accepted the commission and the result was the music you're about to hear now played in the actual world premiere performance and the large Coliseum of Concordia College land of wheat is in six movements titled the land and the people. The planting fields in summer are lazy days threshing bee and harvest celebration. And so here it is the world

premiere performance of the land of wheat played for us by the United States Army field band of Fort Meade Maryland under the direction of their commanding officer Colonel Chester Whiting. Land of wheat. Then.
