Just so. This is your fishing on the fly report for the weekend of April 23rd. The Gallatin is in good shape and has been fishing well depending on the day there have been some fish up and eating and some images still look for the most to be the dominant hatch from here on until we see catus fishing stone fly patterns with a sort of drop or nymph has been the ticket on the Gallatin. Yellowstone has been a little bit hit or miss but when it's heading to fishing has been really good with midges be dojos and streamers. Lots of white fish on the nymph rigs on the Yellowstone but also getting a few rainbows as well. The lower Madison is a bit off color right now but Stringer fishing has been picking up. This is a great time with water temps warming and water levels picking up to start fishing some bigger uglier stuff out here and swinging a few rounds with some smaller streamers patterns as well. Both Cherry Creek and Elk Creek are dumping some color into the river so below blacks is fairly off color above blacks has about a foot of visibility. This is also a good time for heartworms hot orange bright red hot pink and crayfish as well. The fish haven't spread out quite yet. They're still
primarily in the froggy buckets and deep runs patterns can be productive up in the canyon. Just don't expect a bunch of risers all over the place with this kind of visibility. If and when it clears up more the BW of fishing should be decent. Dr. Madison has had some scattered reports but up between the lakes has been fishing about as well as anything with Midge larvae worms and assorted mayflies names. Hello Barney it's a good idea to be throwing rubber legs don't fly imitations this time of year. Buy a smaller bead head off the back worms and eggs can be good too. And don't rule out dead drifting some sculpting patterns as well. Fish are still pretty concentrated in the slower and deeper holes and runs this time of year. So if you get into some fish it's definitely a good idea to throw a couple more casts. The Jefferson has also been a little bit hit or miss some streamer action but even good fishermen are working hard to get fish has the Beaverhead is coming in dirty. The big hole however has been good and that's a nice change of pace at this time of year if you're looking for something different. The beaver had his fish well despite grasshopper coming in dirty and likewise there's a few things opening up Clark Canyon is
fished well and the top and as I stop Kenyan ferry has some open water and the fish are cruising the ice lines and are about 20 to 30 feet offshore right now in most places. A more in-depth report is available at Chapters dot com. This is when you're fishing on the fly report for the weekend of April 23rd brought to you by Montana trumpeters and it's.
