ability in the authority, totally within the city, is the mention of the names of the present and previous presidents of the school committee. And I refer, of course, to John Neuchy and to Rita Watch, Tom Asini and to Kevin McCluskey and John O'Brien and Gene Sullivan McKee, could there in any city, including the city of Boston, be found anywhere five persons and I haven't named them all, but just as representatives since they've served as president. And I shouldn't, of course, neglect to refer to Mayor Flynn, but could there in any city be found five persons more dedicated, more selfless and committed to the welfare of the children of the city than those five persons who have been honored in the presidency of the school
committee? And the answer is obvious. It couldn't, it couldn't get them, what dedicated and conscientious group of persons, so that the court's decision in the final analysis rested less on the technicalities, less on the regulations governing these cases than on the character and the integrity of John Neuchy and his predecessors in that position. There's the real reason for the court's relinquishment of jurisdiction. Those people, Dr. Wilson, the mayor, maybe the CWEC and all the rest, so those are the comments that I wanted to bring to you this evening before joining Dr. Wilson to feel such curveballs as you wish to throw in that direction, thank you.
The next 15 minutes we'll feel questions from the floor, so now we'll invite everybody.
