In January, GM announced the company would stop selling gas and diesel-powered cars and trucks by 2035. To do this, the company needs to build more battery manufacturing plants. On Tuesday, John Flynn area, Chamber of Commerce, President Toby Teeter, announced a $200 billion dollar plan to lure the country's largest automaker to Southwest Missouri. The project includes an over 1,000 acre side at 50% cost savings compared to competing areas. Also General Motors would not have to pay taxes for the first 12 years. The plan is an operation. The proposal also highlights that the median hour wages in Joplin are between 54 cents and $4.48 less than other locations General Motors currently operates, such as Spring Hill Tennessee and Detroit Michigan. GM is expected to release 25 new or redesigned electric vehicles between 2020 and 2025. For KRPS, I'm Fred Fletcher-Fierro in Web City.
