- The first episode of season eight begins with the segment, Gays and airlines, about updated airline policies regarding same-sex partner benefits. Out actors speak out features Margaret Cho and Michael Mayer, and The Lesbian Herstory Archives segment features the founders of the archive in New York City. The Theater spotlight segment features the About Face Theater Co., a Chicago based theater company focused on LGBT arts. The segment In the life video archive features bits about OutFest 1999, Gus Van Sant, the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association (GLMA) fighting bias, and a Human Rights Campaign dinner. The Gay fraternities segment is about being gay and part of a Greek organization, and the segment Gay teen flicks is about the films Edge of seventeen, Get real, Show me love, and But I'm a cheerleader. The segment A day in the life is about Peter Worth, and is a rebroadcast of a segment originally aired as part of episode no. 601. This episode's celebrity ID segment features Martina Navratilova.
