It's this is you're fishing on the fly report for the week of May 14th. Well the good news is with all the moisture and snow pack we've been getting rain for a fantastic summer of fly fishing. That is after the rivers began to clear. Entering into the runoff season. We've seen the last fishable water on the Gallatin in Yellowstone for the time being. With the sunny days and warmer temperatures this week look for a continuation of the caddis hatch on the lower Madison between blowouts. The lower and upper Madison are probably your only options in our area for the rest of the month. On the lower look for B W O S and drakes for dry action and big ugly paint San Juan worms down under. A fish the muddy seem out of Cherry Creek with crayfish Zonker and buggers. It's pretty much an emptying game with big ugly patterns and black yellow or orange when the waters off color. The best fishing on the upper right now is between the lakes with Midge larva worms and may fly nets. Access is still close between quake lake and McEntee and Ennis bridge to the lake. And don't forget about lower lakes in the area
like Clarke Canyon or Canyon ferry as the fish are cruising near the shore. Or try some of the many spring creeks for some challenging early season action. Fishing on the fly is brought to you by KGO in Montana trafficker's. More information on the web at trumpeters dot com. It's.
