Here and Now, KidsCount Data Book, The KidsCount Data Book is an annual study conducted by the Annie E. Casey Foundation. The study reviews conditions for children in ten categories including things like education, health, and economic conditions. Wisconsin has improved since last year, but in only two of the ten categories. This places Wisconsin in the company of North Dakota and Montana as the 'least improved' states. , Low income kids needs,We wanted to make some campaign connections to the topic of child poverty. So we called the candidates for Governor and asked them to answer this question: 'What is the most critical solution to address the needs of low income kids?', Badger Mining Corporation, Badger Mining Corporation in Berlin was chosen as the 'best small business to work for in America' by the National Society for Workplace Management. Company President Tim Weest and his wife Vicky, who's grandfather founded the company in 1949 , Citizens discuss what they look for in a good work environment., Supreme Court decision on redistricting, The U.S. Supreme Court decided a case this week that essentially gives states permission to re-draw their congressional district maps whenever they feel it's necessary. Up to now redistricting has been tied to the every-ten-year census results that help show where shifts in populations occur. The high court decision upholds new district lines in Texas, lines some say were re-drawn to do nothing more than keep a political party in power. , Bill Wambach clinched the 80-84 year old high jump record with a jump of four feet, one-point-six inches. (With Badger State games b-roll) Manufacturer Kimberly-Clark announced Thursday it will cut 150 jobs at its locations in Neenah. Bemis Company, a manufacturer of packaging materials, announced it will create 500 new jobs in the Oshkosh area. , State Economy Update, Discusses the state economy including gas prices, regional differences, the housing market, the job market, consumer slowdown, etc. , Byron Knight, Director of WPT and WPR Byron Knight is retiring.
