Description
Episode Description
Sam Brown was a leading activist against the Vietnam War. He discusses his work organizing "Clean for Gene" students to campaign for Eugene McCarthy in 1968 and describes the damaging effects of riots at the Democratic National Convention. He recounts his role in the Moratorium to End the War in Vietnam effort, the subsequent "New MOB," (New Mobilization Committee Against the War) and describes the negative effect of President Nixon's "silent majority" language on the Peace Movement. Finally, he reflects on transformations in the United States' global perspective as a result of Vietnam.
