- Episode Description
- The five promotional minutes in this compilation each appear twice, once with the announcement "watch Chicago matters in April" and once with "watch Chicago matters Wednesday nights" at the end of each minute. In "Stranger danger," Dr. Carl Bell discusses the small likelihood of being murdered by a stranger. Most victims of murder are killed by people they know. "Date rape," the second minute, is a bar scenario with two men (one on camera, one off camera) discussing a previous evening's date. The on camera man is shocked by the other's attitude toward non-consensual sex. Date rape is defined. In "Time heals," Dr. James Garbarino discusses the effects of violence on children. During "Handgun home," there are different scenes with a handgun in a bedside stand and the various people who would have access to it. In "Home sweet home," a female police officer drives through a nice neighborhood discussing domestic violence as a public issue. She suggests seeking help before the police must become involved. [With:] Dr. Carl Bell, M.D., executive director, Community Mental Health Council; Dr. James Garbarino, child psychologist, The Erikson Institute; [unidentified actors].
