- This episode of Forum is "a special town hall Voice of the Voter pre-election program on nonvoting." It features various experts in voting and non-voting in California, as well as questions and comments from California residents (both in person and call-in) related to voting. The conversations cover topics such as voter turnout in local and national elections, influence of special interest groups, voter privacy, and civility of elections. Guests include: Lynn Heller, director of Project Vote Smart; Mark DiCamillo, director of the Field Poll; Steven Perry from Sunnyvale (call-in) Sy Rosenthal from San Francisco (call-in); Frank from Sausalito (call-in); Mike Phillips (in person); Jim from San Francisco (call-in); Laney from Palo Alto (call-in); Melinda Thorpe from Oakland (in person); Tracy Howell from San Francisco (in person); Sherry from San Francisco (call-in); Stacey (call-in) Al from Berkeley (call-in). This is the first hour of a two-hour program.

- "The entry gives a sense of the broad range of topics covered on this public affairs program which airs daily M-F on public radio KQED in San Francisco. We include a program on why people don't vote (from city hall), a state-wide broadcast on Health Care, a broadcast from Rwanda, AIDS and Profit Politics and an interview with famed physicist Murray Gell Mann. The program covers- rather extensively and with true depth- international, national, state and local matters of concern and public interest and interviews a host of people in all sciences, news making areas of many stripes-all programming passionately dedicated to higher discourse and high quality in radio broadcasting."--1994 Peabody Awards entry form.
