- "The enclosed 2-inch videotape cassette contains representative samples from several of the 53 Running programs, spanning the life of the series from June to November, 1978. "Excerpts included are from the following individual programs: 'The Campaign Ahead,' 'The Polls and the Pollsters,' 'The Image Makers,' 'The Elections and the Courts,' 'The Republican Gubernatorial Debate,' 'The Blitz,' and 'The Last Hurrah.' "Together, they attempt to weave their way through the story both of Running and the 1978 Alaska elections. Though Running covered all statewide races as well as the contest for mayor of Anchorage, this entry focuses on the most fiercely fought campaign -- the race for Governor. "Also attached, on paper, is a program-by-program summary of the series, and a brief background piece explaining the players and the issues in Alaska politics as the 1978 election campaign got under way."--1978 Peabody Awards entry form.
